Hey man, I was talking to Larry Tackett, and he's willing to buy us some pizza and drinks for us for Chess Club...like a big finale for it. I wanted to give you a heads up on that, and I'd like to talk about it to your face and Brittany's as well, so we can plan accordingly.
Just a friendly reminder I'm sending to everyone about Chess Club: It starts tomorrow at 6pm in room 209n (that's Goldstein's room). Do come if ya can.
New Chess Club details. I talked to Debbie, and it seems the first day of Chess Club will be the 25th of Feb. (it is the final Wed. of Feb.). Time is 6-8pm. Once per week every Wednesday. Room 209 (that's the room Goldstein uses).
If possible, I'm gonna talk to Debbie again Thursday to make sure everything is set in stone and to get some posters posted up. Otherwise, seems this thing is finally crackin'. Laters.
I shoulda talked to you at school, but I forgot, but since you're my officer for Chess Club, I got some updates for you.
Most likely, Chess Club will just be once a week, on Wednesday (I work Mondays fairly often and all the other clubs are doing their thing once a week, so we'll follow suit), probably in room 209 as it is available. Room 115 is also available, but that room is close to the library and computer classes, and would require us to be absurdly quiet, so I highly doubt we'll use that room.
When I get my car fixed, I'll finish the two sign-up posters I've been working on and try to get Chess Club up and running before Feb. ends. Time room is available is between 5:30 - Close, so we'll likely have Chess Club at 6-8pm.
In any case, I'll keep you posted on details as I get them. I may need your contact info (i.e. phone number) to put on the posters just in case people interested in the club can't get a hold of me for some reason (like work). But there's no rush for that. As for number of members, it looks like it'll be the same batch of folk from last year, minus Squeege, thank gawd. Tmoney and Campbell don't go to school anymore, but they may visit nonetheless. Hopefully, we can recruit at least seven/eight folk that show up regularly, because if so, we may be recognized as an "official" club and that will allow us a small stipend of grant money to use on pizza, chess items, etc. As for tournaments, I think we'll just have an in-school one near the end of the year. I also have an idea for a bring a family member/friend night, where club members can bring parents, pals, etc., and play chess with them within our club.

Cole, since you're my officer, I just wanted to let you know about Chess Club progress. I talked to Larry Tackett, and I'm to talk with Debbie Tuesday. That day I'll set up posters and and sign up sheets and we'll likely start on the first or second week of Feb. I work sometimes Monday, so if I do, you and/or Brittany are in charge. I'll keep you updated as things progress.
