“…a genuine, honest to goodness kick-ass hip-hop show…” (Erik Leijon, CHARTattack, 2008)

“More Or Les produces some of the most digestible, accessible, intelligent, memorable and infectious raps we've ever heard. Drawing from alternative and underground hip hop trends, his sound is still his own, simultaneously well-steeped in old school while being forward-thinking at the same time.” (CD Baby.com, 2006.)

“Inspired by rap's pre-gangsta golden age -- when good-natured hip-hoppers like Jungle Brothers and Dream Warriors strode the Earth -- Les doesn't just say "it's about fluency with rhyming ingenuity," he proves it.” (Toronto Globe & Mail, 2006.)

“More Or Les: Dope Canadian Hip Hop. This MC slings y’all back to a certain sector of rap’s golden age with his sunny, breezy funk productions and feel-good syllables on the mic.” (The Seattle Stranger, 2004.)

More Or Les BIO:

With two critically-acclaimed albums, North American and European touring under his belt, MC, Producer and DJ More Or Les is a Hip Hop triple threat. Voted no. 8 in both NOW Magazine and Exclaim! Magazine’s Top 10 Hip Hop Artists of 2006, More Or Les is teaming up with Toronto Producer/engineer Fresh Kils to deliver original “uncut dope” (NOW, November 8, 2007) in the form of a collaborative EP scheduled for early 2009. Titled Les-Kils, this duo (with super-skilled guest DJ Uncle Fester from Halifax) rock as a live drum machine, turntable, high-energy rap-infused project for Hip Hop audiences and quality music enthusiasts alike.

More Or Les’ over a decade-long performance career includes such highlights as the 2008 Halifax Pop Explosion, Pop Montréal Festival in ’08 and ’07, ManifesTO Cultural Arts Festival, 2008 Under Pressure Festival, the Luminato Festival, Harbourfront Centre, Wavelength’s 7th Anniversary, Canadian appearances on the Vans Warped Tour, opening for Eyedea & Abilities, a tour of Eastern Canada with the Wordburglar, appearances at The Second City, Style In Progress, a trip to each coast with the Perpetual Motion Roadshow, many local clubs around Toronto, Government of Canada Pavilions at the 2003 World Cycling Championships and the Canadian National Exhibition, as well as busking on the streets.

Music releases for More Or Les include his debut and sophomore albums I only stop for the Red Ants and The Truth About Rap respectively, and appearances on the latest release of The Herbaliser. Appearing on their 2008 album "Same As It Never Was", More or Les connected with the group over three shows (Toronto, Ottawa & Montreal) on their 2005 Canadian tour, a week-long gig in London, UK in November 05 and European & Canadian tours in 2006 and 2008.

With "crates steeped deep in hip hop history," Les is a resident DJ at Toronto's monthly classic Hip Hop celebration, Never Forgive Action and co-host of the media-attention-grabbing Hip Hop Karaoke. He was also the resident DJ at Toronto's most influential underground hip hop showcase, In Divine Style, which ran weekly from 2001-2006.

Although the Truth About Rap is outstanding, "The Wrong Way" has to be my favorite track right now. It's one of those you have to go out and play for everyone.
