Sounds Like
I have been told by people at various gigs that I sound like: Jeff Buckley, Richard Hawley, Sinatra, Neil Hannon, Morrissey, Paul Simon, Radiohead...
This is an extra myspace page to hold the music that isn't my jazz songs. Songs like 'Forgiving You' are examples of how I started as a songwriter over 12 years ago, before I got into jazz singing (see Simon Lawrence Jazz Band below).
I am influenced by artists such as Simon and Garfunkel, particularly the guitar style of Paul Simon, and also of Bowie, Radiohead, Morrissey, The Divine Comedy and The Doors.
I have written numerous songs and have a self produced album 'Separate Stories'. I don't like repetition and so I endeavour to make each song different from the next. Although I have my jazz band, I am glad to be doing the whole singer/songwriter thing again and am now playing solo gigs on a regular basis in London.
I hope you enjoy this sample of my music. To hear my other styles go to the links in my friends section below.
