A Grammy winning musician on both sides of the Atlantic. Born in Umeå north part of Sweden 1967. Mr. Ågren was spotted as an outstanding talent at a young age as he began performing publicly at age seven, and eventually joined forces with 10 year old blind keyboardist Mats Öberg in 1981. Originally very influenced by Frank Zappa, whom they also played with in 1988 and 1991. But while some of the Zappa influence remains, they have long since found their own voices. In the mid 90's, they began releasing CDs on Morgan's label Ultimate Audio Entertainment, eventually forming a stable band, which has been amazing audiences in Europe, Asia and the USA since 2001. All players with superb playing ability. A well-honed, cohesive unit, showing the band arriving at its own voice in progressive jazz/rock. Mats/Morgan Band is an absolutely monster band who await the world's discovery! Morgan has also played with Fleshquartet/Fläskkvartetten, Steve Vai, Fredrik Thordendal (of Meshuggah) Spoonman, Glen Huges, Tony Iommi, Terry Bozzio Mike Keneally, Denny Walley, Kaipa, Bolon Bata, Dweezil Zappa etc. // Cuneiform Records

and quintet. Morgan Ågren's Tourbook DVD contains various recordings made during
a 16-year span, including live and studio recordings featuring Mats/Morgan Band, Fleshquartet, [BOX], The Music of Captain Beefheart,
Simon Steensland Kamikaze United, Freddie Wadling, Magma/Vander tribute, Drumkit From Hell sessions, Fredrik Thordendal (of Meshuggah) etc.
