The Morphology project comes out of the brilliant synergy between Roberto Priori (guitar) and Jamma Rocchetti (voice), both composers/producers who worked together in different musical contexts from recordings to jingles to soundtracks.
Over the years the two developed a noteworthy studio experience as well as a strong musical identity and decided to join forces in order to create a personal concept for a live and recording band.
With the help of Gabriele Palazzi (drums) and Roberto Galli (bass) they enter the studio in late 2006, recording 12 previously-released tunes, but giving them a truly personal, heavy, unorthodox, and sometimes outrageous outfit.
The choice of making an album with well-known tunes comes from a challenge: giving new life to ever-lasting melodies suffering the passing of time, with their previous dated arrangements.
Morphing music from the 80’s into the next millennium..
The project’s inner strength comes from mixing all the different musical roots of the musicians involved, giving birth to a whole new sound.
The ending result is a bunch of heavy-rock catchy-tunes with a hint of electronics and unconventional sounds.
Morphology reinterpret some of the most famous English and American pop-artist tunes (Bronsky Beat, Terence Trent D’Arby, Billy Idol, Cindy Lauper, Tory Amos, Kim Carnes, Mr.Mister) exhibiting unexpected solutions.
Due to the enthusiastic results obtained in that first session, the band got back together in the studio to complete the album with two un-released tracks (“Green Wall” and “Gravity”), revealing what their sophomore effort will be, an original material CD.
All tracks have been recorded at Doctor Studios in Bologna, except “Gravity”’s piano intro tracked in Los Angeles by Leo Z, a well-known artist who performed with the likes of Elisa, Bocelli, Josh Groban among many others.
Worthy to be remembered, Morphology band members had the pleasure to work on high-profile gigs both in rock and pop settings, live and in the studio, performing in the U.S club circuit (Danger Zone), international events (Heineken Jammin’ Festival- MCB band) and various Italian pop icons (883, F.Finardi, I.Spagna, U.Tozzi, ecc..)

Il progetto Morphology nasce da Roberto Priori (Chitarra) e Jamma Rocchetti (Voce), già produttori e autori di brani in diversi progetti musicali.
Con l’ingresso nella band di Gabriele Palazzi (Batteria) e Roberto Galli (Basso), nell’autunno 2006, i Morphology entrano in studio per registrare 12 brani editi ai quali danno una impronta molto personale, dura, inconsueta ed a volte irriverente.
Le diverse origini musicali di questi musicisti, miscelate tra loro, hanno creato una sonorità propria ed inedita. Il risultato è un insieme di brani di un genere rock potente, solido, accattivante, ma anche contaminato da elettronica e colori meno convenzionali.
Visti i notevoli risultati ottenuti, i Morphology hanno deciso di completare l’album con due inediti “Green Wall” e “Gravity”, anticipazione di come sarà il secondo album della band, proiettato interamente verso brani originali.
Vale la pena ricordare che i Morphology hanno al proprio attivo una esperienza nell’ambito rock e pop importante, sia live che in studio, tra gruppi che hanno suonato nel circuito dei clubs americani (Danger Zone), festival internazionali come l’Heineken Jammin’ Festival (MCB Band) e vari artisti italiani (883, E.Finardi, Spagna, U.Tozzi, ecc.).
