TelevisionDon't watch it. My set is a DVD monitor.
BooksI've got too damn many books to start running em down, so here are a few writers who have inspired me, or inspired awe in me, as a journalist/critic: George Orwell, Lillian Ross, Joseph Mitchell, James Agee, Michael Herr, Hunter S. Thompson, Peter Guralnick, Lester Bangs, Nick Tosches, Stanley Booth, Robert Palmer, Jimmy McDonough, and Robert Gordon. RIP Ryszard Kapuscinski. And toss in Mystery Train by Greil Marcus, who I cant read anymore. When you get down to it, probably all you need in life is Homer (who Im still trying to read) and Shakespeare. And maybe a copy of Bob Dylan's autobiography. If stranded on a desert island, I could probably settle for the complete works of Raymond Chandler and a lifetime supply of unfiltered Camels.

You make the impossible dream a tangible Truth and the hem of His garment doth not drag but in GLORY so that we may ride.
Humble Genuflections and Lots of "SEX! It Never Happened!" which in your case, I hope does.

Jun 2 2008 10:33 PM

Hey, Reverend Chris Morris --

Los Angeles ain't tasted the kind of spiritual healin' you're dishin' out on Watusi Rodeo since Sister Aimee Semple McPherson was feedin' the town back in the '20s and '30s. And that's a long time between meals, brother.

Watusi Rodeo saved my life!

Great Job at Topanga Days, great to see you always! Wish I could have made the RW tribute too! If I would have known you were doing a summer show on Sunday I would have slipped you a copy of Summer Vegetable... a song from my defunct White Girl, which I now play in the Jubilee...I trust I will be seeing you soon!
