The following artists have influenced my music, some in a small way, others in a big way. In no particular order: James Taylor, Melissa Etheridge, The Beatles, REM, Chick Corea, Dixie Chicks, Aerosmith, John Denver, Laurie Anderson, Jim Croce, Goo Goo Dolls, Garth Brooks
Sounds Like
I've been told I sound like a cross between Melissa Etheridge and James Taylor. Not sure that's true, it's just been said more than once, so I guess it's as good as any...
After a long, long year, my CD is finished! Listen here to two cuts off of the new CD. If you like, check out my page at CD Baby
http://cdbaby.com/cd/morrycampbell2
The CD contains 5 songs (plus the bonus track) mixed and produced by the amazing Robert Urban, and 7 songs (plus one odd bonus track) mixed and produced by yours truly. Give it a listen. I'm sure you'll agree it's a great set of songs.
A portion of those same artists showcased this weekend at the 16th Original GLBT Expo will appear on April 6th at OutMusic's Open mic. Barnacle Bill & Lady Honey Clover will host OutMusic, which continues stronger than ever, being presented by The Center, NYC’s own cornerstone for the LGBT community.
In addition to newcomers and those long-serving, OutMusic invites three special guests in April: Lousia "Light" McBee, a classically trained jazz vocalist who fuses her influences with contemporary electronic. Vincent Digeronimo, an independent folk singer, with sturdy guitar and vocals displaying his lyric poetry. And our feature Virago, comprised of Amy Schindler and Maire Tashjian, two versant musicians making regional sounds.
With added appearances by Young Neat, Matt Gerber, poet Katina Douveas and other inspirational artists, whose work can be felt in the guts of all who behold it. Don’t miss your chance to show and tell your talent and be among companions.
As Pride events draw near, keep pace with OutMusic’s latest developments by visiting outmusic.com and join us the first Monday of every month at The Center for the open mic. $10 / $7 for members (admission includes drink ticket).

Great seeing you on Monday night! I LOVE THAT SONG!... and, to restate the obvious, so did the audience! Thanks again for your dedication to the event and for bringing your talent and energy to the masses! And my bad, yeah there are other versions of "Leatherwing Bat" out there... but I meant what I said, yours is the best!

January 25th is the next Khufu Spectacular. Matt Gerber and I, Barnacle Bill, are putting it in gear like third time is a proverbial charm. Join us, along with a special guest lineup, celebrating the occasion of Katina Douveas’ Birthday. Katina is a spoken word artist and close friend, due to recite at Café Khufu that evening. Also slated is Sunday Boy, a guy with Amos’ pianism, and real creative depth.
Some provisions for the viewing audience are as follows: the owners of Café Khufu are great friends of ours. They have a lax BYOB policy and will charge $5 per person drinking. If you bring your own wine or liquor, extend your deference to their wishes. There is a food menu, if any are craving the delicious taste of chick peas or fava beans - try their falafels. And tip your waiter!
There is a suggested donation of $10 at the door, but none will be turned away. We love you, and would prefer you grace with your presence.
Doors at 7pm - Showtime 8pm sharp Café Khufu 61 E 3rd St Between 1st & 2nd Aves New York, NY 10095 (212) 673-6003 www. myspace. com/cafekhufu
Get ready for another Café Khufu extravaganza. Really people, really. We’ve got Matt Gerber with his rock ‘n’ roll pitch, you know all his material is a hit. You’ve got emotional old me, Barnacle Bill getting low-down and funky. We’ve got girls with guitars and poetry. Lots of poetry. We’re going to bring it to you so soulfully. And I want to put asterisks around ***The White Elephant Burlesque Society*** (http://www. weburlesque. net/), they’re not you’re average strip teasers. They’re exotic performing artists and you wont want to miss them. And we don’t want to miss you either. So please come out.
