Bit about my musical past. After moving back from living in Hungary as a kid, started playing drums and after playing in numerous smaller bands, got a gig playing with The Gunslingers. We toured the UK and played numerous festivals in Europe over the period i was with them, supporting the Quireboys (or Queerboys as they were known before they made it). Then i joined a band called D Rose fronted by a madman called Tony Rocker. Did numerous gigs and radio stuff with them before moving on from that project. Moved into being a technician for various bands and toured the world with the likes of Bill Bruford's Earthworks, Uriah Heep, Nazareth, Girlschool, Stiff Little Fingers. Got fed up with working for these bands only because i'm a frustrated artist lol so put together Mortice. I needed a song writing partner and after numerous beers, managed to persuade Billy Rankin (former axeman with Nazareth, Alex Harvey Band) to come on board and Mortice was born. The vocal addition of Bernie Shaw (vocalist with Uriah Heep) has only enhanced the project, plus he didn't need as much beer to convince.
The album "Mayhem" came into being, featuring twelve tracks written by John O'Leary, Billy Rankin and Bernie Shaw.
Moving along onto the new album "In For The Kill", featuring session axeman, Matt Love who helped write some of the tunes for the album. Mortice is still alive and kicking and hopefully will do so for some time to come :)

Futant Oblivion - Incoherent Universe Release March 20, 2008
“We, long time fans of Uriah Heep from all over the world, are very disappointed and disgusted at the treatment that the band are getting from Universal Music and the seemingly lack of support from their management company Duroc Media.”
This is the first paragraph of a petition that is now online at www.petitiononline.com/uhwts/petition.html
If you agree with this and want to try and do something about it, here is what you can do:
First of all go to www.petitiononline.com/uhwts/petition.html and read the full petition text. If you still agree (and I think you will!), then please sign the petition with your name or nickname and the country where you live. You have to provide your email address too, but you do have the option to keep it private. If you want you can also leave a comment.
Then spread the word about the petition in any way and to as many people as you can! Start by sending this message to all Uriah Heep fans and other lovers of good rock music that you know. Webmasters of Uriah Heep websites can post a message about the petition and petition link on their websites and tell about it in their newsletters. Also we can leave messages on forums and on networking sites such as MySpace. Last but not least, you can copy the full petition text into an email message, change the “We, long time fans (……..), are” into “I, long time fan (………), am”, sign your name and send it to
info@durocmedia.com info@umusic.com
Maybe all of this will not help Uriah Heep get their new album in the stores, but I think it’s better than doing nothing, a united effort to give off a sign to Duroc and Universal is at least worth a try!!! So hopefully as many Heep fans as possible will try to help by signing the petition and spreading the word!!!
