Mortimer, a rock band from Seattle, Washington, USA, has existed since 2003. With
influences ranging from the Dismemberment Plan to Death Cab for Cutie to
Jeff Buckley, the band pursues musical maturity while maintaining an
essential connection to both its musical roots and its listeners.
Mortimer's 2005 release, Nice Night for an Evening, is a rock album with
elements of funk and pop; it undoubtedly reflects the band's live
performances. Mortimer is currently working on a new studio album to be
released later in 2006.
Here's a link to our new album "Medicated Empty" Produced by Mike Herrera from MXPX. We are really proud of it. "Uniformed Mascara" was just on NBC's Season Finale of Life....so be sure to check our blog out to watch that.
If there is one Christmas single you should buy this year it isn't the one that will make a rich man richer. It's the one that will make a small difference to a boy's life...
Derby based band Esteban, working together with PLAN UK, have chosen to sponsor Orlin, a boy of 12 from La Paz, Honduras.
100% of the royalties from Shanty Mansion will go directly into an on-going sponsorship program bringing vital community projects to La Paz, where Orlin lives in a house made of mud, where the field nearby is the lavatory and where drinking water is a 1km walk away.
Bassist Ricky tells how the idea came about: "Earlier this year, whilst on tour, I found out that my biological mother is from Guyana. We made contact for the first time since I was born. For a kid raised in Derbyshire, discovering my roots far away was amazing. It led me to think about what we as a band could do with our music to help those less fortunate than us. I reckon we can make a small difference in peoples lives."
Esteban and their label The Animal Farm have pledged all proceeds from the sales of their exciting new single to the project.

Shanty Mansion is out NOW
Buy one for yourself. Gift one to a friend. Spread the word. Every penny will go to Orlin in Honduras.
