Morwenna Lasko & Jay Pun defy the boundaries of acoustic music. Hailing
from Charlottesville, VA, this duo has more raw talent and natural style than
you ever thought was possible. Infusing style from World, Jazz, Folk, Funk, and many more that it's almost impossible to mention here. This duo is far beyond any type of group that's out right now.
Currently hard at work on their sophomore effort, 2008 will definitely be a year to remember. The duo is working to bring more of their band sound but still remaining true to all of their influences. Don't be out of the loop and make sure you know what's up with this incredible duo.
"A musical dance between two lovers of music , a romance written in notes...with never a need of a voice...only the tips of their fingers and the smiles on their friendly faces...."-RobinElla
"Charlottesville has always been a great place for music and Morwenna & Jay are definitely proving that, they're great."-Darol Anger
"When Lasko and Pun are on stage together, their chemistry and sound
is irresistible."-Andrew Leahey (C-ville Weekly- Aug'04).
"A phenomenal duo from up Charlottesville way, our friends and true trailblazers on the acoustic front."-Adrienne Young
With the release of their debut album, Etopia, Morwenna and
Jay put together their individual unique sounds and have found their collective
groove. These gifted musicians will take your breath away and leave you begging
for more.
Together they have shared shows with such great acts as Bela Fleck & The Flecktones, Frank Vignola Quintet
, Darol Anger, Corey Harris,
RobinElla, Dave Matthews Band,
Hackensaw Boys, Avett Brothers, Dr. Ralph Stanley, to name a few.

So im listening to your cd so I thought it would be about time to take a closer look at your cd design...just now noticed the outside has color on it too! Imagine that...also I love the picture of Morwenna in the inside with her and her fiddle on the chair with headphones on...thats a great pic!
i will do it. ya'll should come and play at the melting point in athens, georgia if you havent already. its a pretty good venue. nice stage and all. i saw the everybodyfields there a few months ago and Robin has played there a couple of times. i think they would like you. another place that would be good for you to play is this radio show called morningstar on NPR. it is in Sautee-Nacoochee georgia(near Helen). would be good exposure for ya. I saw Chuck Pyle play there a few years ago. Not a bar. Nice professional stage, lighting and all. Are you singing any songs yet? I am interested in this aspect of your performance. anyway thanks for the return and i will come see ya when you are down here.....later...mike...
