About Mosey

In September 2004, aspiring singer and grad school dropout Kari Basden moved to Texas and met fellow grad school dropout/singer/songwriter/science teacher Jared Dobbs. The two quickly fell for each other and got hitched. What was once the Jared Dobbs Band soon became a charming Texas folk duo. To avoid such cumbersome names as the Dobbses, The Dobbs Family Band, The Jared & Kari Dobbs Band, the Dobbseseses, they decided to go with Mosey. This simple, quaint name not only reflects their laid-back Americana style, but also is a reminder to slow down and mosey a little in life.
