ABOUT US:
Moshi Productions began as a home project studio built and developed by engineer/producer Ian Bennett and has since grown into a fully functional recording facility, production house, and consulting firm. Our facility is located conveniently in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, only 10 minutes from Philadelphia, an hour from New York City, and a short half hour drive from suburban Bucks County. Our new studio provides clients with a comfortable relaxing environment tailor made to be conducive to creativity.
Here at Moshi we believe in more than just pressing record and letting the band do their thing, we have a vision to bring every bands sound to the next level, allowing them to shine at their greatest potential to give them the best chances at making it in the industry. We do this through fine tuning every musical detail, helping to arrange and produce songs, pushing and guiding members to adding fresh layered sounds, and capturing the best performance possible.
We also offer industry consultation in an effort to help artists make the best decisions possible in order to further their careers. Clients of ours have had success after working with us signing to major labels, being featured on major network television, opening and playing on major US/international tours, entering publishing contracts, and selling songs to radio and television. For all intents and purposes, we’re looking to get as many people enjoying your music as possible.
OUR STAFF:
Ian D.G. Bennett is the main engineer/producer/consultant at Moshi Productions. As a musician/band member Ian started out playing drums/singing backups in the punk rock outfit “The Dirty Tactics” (Underground Cities). He has had solo success, releasing a full length on Grizzly Records in April 2008, and playing as a regular at World Café Live in Philadelphia PA. Ian is currently the lead singer/guitarist/songwriter in the band We Are Castles, who has seen abundant success in little more than a year of playing together, signing publishing/management/promotional/record contracts, having a song featured on One Tree Hill (CW Network, Warner Brothers), and playing to sold out crowds in popular local venues.
As an Engineer/producer Over the past 4 years Ian has done session and production work for bands on Jive, Eyeball, Virgin, Toss Up, LAVA, and Fueled by Ramen Records. He has worked in several studios on the East coast, amassing a wealth of contacts and networking opportunities. He has endlessly pursued the goal of helping local bands to shape and hone their sound/songwriting, working with over 40 artists in the area, all of whom have become repeat clients, and has consistently worked with national acts, assisting bands in all stages of their careers.
In his songwriting career, Ian has sold songs independently to touring groups in Arizona, FTS Professional Wrestling, NOMA Music, Warner Brothers Music Group (for use in national television), and local bands and artists, many of which have seen success and been put in rotation on radio or seen placements in television. He also works part time in publishing for NOMA Music (Los Angeles, CA) placing songs in TV, Radio, and theatrical releases.
Jason Harris is our talented secondary engineer/producer on staff. Jay, who attended the Conservatory of Recording Arts and sciences, receiving a 4.0 GPA and high honors, brings technical knowledge and serious industry know how to the table. Jay has worked in some of the largest studios in the country, including Quad Studios (Times Square NYC), and spent time engineering for Play Work Productions in Philadelphia PA. Jay is also a founding member and the rock solid bassist of We Are Castles, helping tirelessly to promote the bands success.
Last but certainly not least we have a NEW addition, Matt Freedman. As lead singer and songwriter for the band Bayshore Drive, Matt has played in front of Sold out crowds at Venues like the Trocadero in Philly, Bam Margera's The Note for Radio 104.5 and have had songs featured on Philly radio stations 93.3 WMMR and 1045 FM.
