| General | Generally, I dig learning, traveling, socializing, relaxing, and exercising. Specifically, I dig the NBA playooffs, a good foreign/independent movie, and live music. | | Music | I get most excited about the hard bop that came out between 1955 and 1965. I dig free jazz- as long as it's not TOO out.
I like listening to classical music from the romantic and post-romantic era... with a little 20th century music- as long it's not TOO atonal. My favorite composer is Rimsky-Korsakov.
As far as rock, my interests are sometimes everywhere... and often times nowhere. Umm... I enjoy the music that my bands have played. | | Movies | I enjoy foreign movies the most because I can learn about parts of the world that I've never visited.
Also, I will watch any well-made documentary.
My favorite movie of all-time is probably Ingmar Bergman's "Shame." Yes, the Swede still has me mezmorized.
My favorite American movie is "There Will Be Blood." That's the best ending ever.

Photography: "Jazzlife" by William Claxton............ | | Heroes | Any person who can create a moral code for himself and have the rare ability to follow it consistently is my hero... regardless of whether that person is Caesar Augustus or a 100-acre farmer, Friedrich Nietzsche or a high school teacher, John Coltrane or some anonymous local rock musician playing for fifty folks in a dirty rock club. |
