Sounds Like
A traditional string band, the Mosspickers are unafraid to bend the rules while promoting and preserving the grand tradition of roots music; folk, bluegrass, cajun, and country.
Clay Parker and Patrick Sylvest have been performing original and cover folk and bluegrass songs acoustically for the past year or so. They've become a crowd and proprietor favorite at 'The Grapevine Cafe' and Gallery' in Donaldsonville, LA where they frequently perform on Friday evenings.
They were recently joined in a jam by Billy Finney and Matt Sylvest and 'THE MOSS PICKERS' came to be.
Billy's tasteful and deft banjo and guitar playing and passionate vocal timbre are marvelous additions to the group. His yodeling is a welcome addition to our Jimmie Rogers covers. Listen close and you'll get to hear us play some of Billy's original material.
Matt, the youngest of the group, adds his accomplished bass playing to the mix, rounding out the sound nicely. His vast repertoire on guitar and mandolin will also add some fresh ideas to the setlist.
Songwriters all!
