Mostro - Power world trio extraordinaire, with Papillon performing cultural dance movements from the past and present.
Mostro is a power trio with a World music vibe. Jesse Weber trained in the spiritual percussion of the Bata Afro-Cuban drums. Hernan is trained in the ancient instrument of the didgeridoo and takes percussion inspiration from his roots in Argentina. Justin Ancheta is trained in Flamenco guitar and reggae-world and has a voice worthy of the big stage. Papillon is a trained world dancer in styles ranging from ballet and Flamenco, to Improvisational-Folklore.
After a 20 song street CD release of Mostro at the end of 2007, Mostro dove straight into the thick of things by going to Expression.edu in Emmeryville and working on a demo at industry standard to seriously pursue their art form together. The entire group is enthusiastically pursuing all the aspects of sound possible to the group (which includes EVERYTHING) and forming a piece that can be performed in it's entirety at respectable theaters and concert halls throughout the world. For more information, please check regularly for updates on shows, news, pictures, video, and CD's. Mostro Merchandising coming soon!
Quotes:
"...I must say I was completely captivated by your street presence... all of a sudden I heard music (and) It was enough to compel me to get off of the bus and listen to/watch you guys play... I really appreciate your sound and lyrics (and the solar power!) What a gift to happen upon such good music on such a beautiful day... " Lisa, Street Music Critique.
