Motel Arizona’s fiery-eyed and satin-voiced cowgirls,
Hap and Squeak, hit the new frontier with a holler
back to the golden age of western song and cowboys of
the silver screen, along with their trusty pard'ner, Smiley.
1. Sautee green onions, chopped garlic cloves, mushrooms and basil in a small pan of hot butter and olive oil
2. While the yums are sizzling, slice open your chops side to side (on the horizon), making a little pocket for the goodies. Generously pepper the top of the chop, then a tidbit of salt. Do the other side after it's been flipped in the pan (see next step).

3. Sautee your chops in a different pan, also in hot butter and olive oil, over the open fire until browned on both sides (turn over twice)

5. Sprinkle some generous shavings of fresh parmesan on top of the goodies to seal them in, toss a little on top of the chop as well.

Motel Arizona is home safe and sound today after a wild weekend in Bisbee, AZ spreadin' the infectious groove of vintage western cowboy music. Boy did we have a great time. It was nearly impossible to walk away from such good vibes. We hope to be back soon!
Our first show was Friday night, at The Howlin' Coyote where we were welcomed by Rachelle and Mark, Phil and Al and the gang. Boy! Those folks love to dance and sure do know their cowtunes. Local musician Terri Wolf helped out with some tambourine and the night was alive. A good time was had by all. At the end of the evening, our posse was hongray!! and we'd missed the dinner bell so it was time to go on an food roundup adventure into the nearby town of Douglas. We found some grub about 10 feet from the Mexican border and boy was it tasty after such a long day! We definitely have to get down there again soon to taste the famous steaks of The Howlin' Coyote - I hear it's the best this side of the Mississippi (and the other side, too). Thanks for the invitation to come again!
On Saturday we played at the new and fabulous Hot Licks Barbeque and Blues Saloon on OK Street in the heart of Old Bisbee. Our hostesses Nik' and Steph were tres cool and really kept the room going strong. Liz, where the 'L' stands for lovely, was the owner of the hot Hot Licks and couldn't have been more pleasant to work with. There was a great crowd there all night, whoopin' and hollerin' and doin everything a happy person could do on a good night out. Thanks, Hot Licks for a great time.
But before we went to Hot Licks, we were lucky enough to go hang out with our good friend Joy Stewart and the KBRP folks on her Vintage West show that airs on Saturday evenings at 5pm. We played some songs, gave a yodeling lesson, had a good chat and STILL had time for Joy's signature Louis Lamour readings to get everyone right in that western mood. The show went well and apparently was a great advertising tool because several people I saw later that night said they'd heard us on the radio and came out to see more. Thanks, KBRP!!
In the end, our Bisbee tour was a most successful and pleasant adventure- full of cosmic happenstance and mirth. I think we are all feeling pretty good today, despite the full schedule and ridiculous exercise that should have made us nearly bedridden by now. . .we feel fresh and clear and healthy. Thanks, Bisbee!!
