"It was a cold blistering night on Friday and few had braved Johnson St hypothermia to patronise the Tote. You had to feel sorry for Mother & Son, who had travelled all the way from Wollongong to make it to the legendary venue and found themselves playing to a 3-man audience. If they were disappointed it didn't distract from the wonderful things they had to show us. Although they look 17 going on 18 once the "strings on sticks" Bodie opens his mouth you are forced to revise your estimations. This guy has one of the best blues voices I've heard in a while; it just reeks of gravel and growl and spit and twang and all without missing a note. Their songs are wonderful jaunting creations with a fast percussion beat throwing a garage riff down the stairs." Carolyn Dempsey, Inpress, Melbourne July 09.
Mother and Son? Who the fuck are Mother and Son?
They play music... its loud... it sounds kinda old sounding... kinda like elvis... except elvis is a little pansy girl compared to Mother and Son.
It is fun to dance to... and they love to play it for you... so everyone has fun... except people that like clean voices and clean shaven faces... and people who want to keep their hearing... but who likes those people anyways?
Bodie growls while picking and strumming.
Matman beats up his kit.
