Mother Hubbard has been rockin' throughout Central Ohio since 1998. Formed by lead guitarist and vocalist Travis Brown, Mother Hubbard is known for their unique styles and large following. Mother Hubbard is a well seasoned band, playing major festivals such as the Easy Riders Biker Rodeo and has opened up for acts like Jackyl, Georgia Satellites, Charlie Daniels, and traveled as far as New York to perform.
Travis, the founder/guitar/vocal, is a home grown, self taught guitar player. Influenced by such greats as Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimmy Paige, Angus Young, Eric Clapton, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash to name a few. Born and raised in Pickaway county Travis is all about the music. A fondness for Fender Stratocaster's, Tele's, Les Paul's and SG's are the things that makes his world go round. Some of Travis' favorite songs are Layla, Ten Years Gone, Ride On, Watchin the Wheels, Bell Bottom Blues, Life by the Drop and so many more we couldn't count. He has an appreciation for a time past when guitar players were guitar players and music was music. Vocally influenced by the likes of Jim Morrison, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash. With an arsenal of vintage guitars and a heart pounding 100 watt Marshall stack brings the tone of a bygone area. Travis grew up with a broad appreciation for music. Especially fond of the blues, classic heavy rock of the late 60's early 70's and appreciation for outlaw country.
Jeff, a long time friend of Travis' and a mutual music fanatic, is Mother Hubbard's bassist. Jeff has an almost identical taste in music as Travis and has been around the music scene for many years. He is a seasoned vet with an ear for rhythm and good harmony vocals. Jeff hails from the same area as Travis (Pickaway county) and has similar goals leaning towards original music. Jeff's unique style of the "one finger is enough" approach is something to behold. Jeff can play more with one finger than most can with five. Jeff's old work horse 90's Fender Jazz Bass (with authentic bar room discoloration) is his main axe. He is heavily influenced by such bands as Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin, SRV, Creedence and many more. With a powerful 500 watt Hartke stack and his trusty Jazz, Jeff can rumble the house.
Mother Hubbard is an experience to behold live. The band will be embarking on an album of all original material. If you would like to see a band that can get your heart pounding, take you back to an era of great music and get your feet moving, there is only one choice.........
