Influences
The moment is the influence that affects the music. These guys are affected by the culture that surrounds them but at the same time they immediately begin to affect that culture and change it. It isn't that they can't adapt. It is that they refuse to adapt. The refusal in part is because they don't want to fit if they did fit. They don't like what they see around them. They look like rebels because they are but it's rebellion against greed and the evils that are birthed from that. The courage is that they are defiant and their 'do something about it' is their music. The blues are a huge part of the music because it's part of life; they hear, feel, see agony as it races on by, as it pierces the heart. They exhale unparalled ecstasy of blissfully independant sound as the laser beam of emotion exits out again. They somehow find a way to capture those feelings of life passions, lost loves, broken dreams, & haunting memories in notes and instruments and voice. Most importantly, they make it fun adding dignity to life. This ability to transform sorrow to joy is a common thread that weaves into all the variations of their music from the early days until now; despite the line up changes, the changes in the culture, changes in the music scene, changes in fortune, rip offs by managers, and in a sense by themselves of themselves the commonality that remains is the fierce independant spirit that translates itself into the universal language of music. You may not even be part of that particuliar expression that somehow touches you. Somehow you heard the going in the wind. You may not even be aware of it. That's why you are here. And we're glad to have ya
Sounds Like
They sound like every person whose music they ever listened to, every musician they ever played with and every thought they ever had about music. They don't sound "like" anyone else. They sound like a slow train comin' straight into your soul. They are 100% original American rock n roll.

You are METAL, you are Punk, you are Garage, you are Grunge, you are Stonerrock *************Here is "the man who started it all" --- Dickie Peterson --- "hey man, it's just rock n roll". You are Blues, You are a musician who loves music for the beauty of it not the money of it, You are a lover of music ... you are here, you are us ... ***************************
BLUE CHEER and MOTHER OCEAN ... A BIG THUNDERING PERFECT WAVE coming right at ya ...
Dickie Peterson, founding member of Blue Cheer, bassist, vocalist, song writer, cartoonist, story teller, high times survivor of the sixties revolt on the culture ... he will piss you off or you will fall in love but you won't walk away indifferent ... **********************************************
Dickie blues roots so deep you don't know which is older, him or the blues ... Muddy Waters gave him the advice that even today is the cornerstone of his style. *******************************************
MOTHER OCEAN - original music from the roots of rock n roll ... MOTHER OCEAN ... the other side of Blue Cheer. No one knows who came first, or who is on first, and why think about being first, just enjoy yourself *******
MOTHER OCEAN - no one rides on yesterdays' memories with this music; it is as upfront and timely as the people who create and perform it. Ageless. Heavier now than ever before. Others their age are resting on yesterdays highs while these guys continue to define space.
HOWEVER, THIS SITE IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. THE WHEEL GOES ROUND AND "ROUND AND I AM TOO BUSY >>> TRY BLUE CHEER SITE
NPR's "All Songs Considered: Open Mic" had a nice feature today on "Living in the Past" - from forthcoming album "Aficionado". Click through to hear the song w/ an introduction by yours truly. Ciao, LB
"California's Lee Bob Watson lives on slide guitar, scoffs at dancerock, and tries his damndest to make Johnny Cash proud. But on his latest album, Aficionado, Watson pairs his cowboy hat with Chuck Taylor's and adds an indie-rock flavor to his country roots."

PLEASE accept my sincere appology, friends!
Yesterday I tried out a new program, and meant to send (private) messages to all my friends, asking who wants to see a Mtndawg show near them. Instead, it turned out to be THIS comment program.
I am sorry, I never intended to Spam anyone!
All I was doing was honestly trying to get an idea WHERE Mtndawg fans/friends are.
The WANTED poster is posted on MY page, now. You are welcome to keep it in your comments, it is a harmless post.
Either way>>>
Thank you for remaining my friend!
