    Currently one of my interests, which would be for my benefit, is learning to trust my Lord to provide all of my family's needs, including mine! You'd think that'd be simple. Other than that I find myself desiring to stand with wisdom and discernment against those that would continue to oppress women and men with the lie of abortion. That even those who profess Christ would try to convince anyone that it is acceptable is heartbreaking! I have come to recognize that those who profess Him while standing on the side of 'choice' are willfully ignorant and I dare them to truly seek His counsel on this subject and come to see that they've allowed themselves to be lied to by the mainstream current of this country long enough and find the courage to finally step up for what's good and right. We cannot serve two masters, our God the Creator and Giver of all life and the other who would convince us that the life He blesses us with can be arbitrarily snuffed out of existence with rhetoric that is not of the Lord our God. For those who choose to remain ignorant, do not be offended if I see you as one who stands with the great deceiver!

  • Music

    I happen to enjoy all types of music from classical to certain rap. Mostly I love to listen to inspirational music that lifts my spirits and reminds me of who I am. I'm a huge fan of Jennifer Knappe, Bebo Norman, City on a Hill, and more. A recent favorite is this band singing "See No Evil" See No Evil

  • Movies

    Movie's are about the only thing I'll watch on occasion. I still find that many of them make me blush even when I watch them alone! Someone once said that if you can't watch a certain movie with your own child then you shouldn't watch it. I believe that's so true!

  • Television

    We no longer watch regular T.V. in this house, which has not broken my heart one bit! ;)

  • Books

    I love to read more than anything else! I always say that you can take the TV, you can even take my music (with a bit of pain) but don't you dare touch my books! I also enjoy studying comparative religion ~ Weldon and Ankerberg being my favorite authors in this regard. Very enlightening. Never ceases to show me how firm a foundation is Christ's love and presence.

  • Heroes

    I absolutely must say that I've the utmost love and adoration for the late Pastor Richard Wurmbrand and his wife Sabina. Two of the most godly people I've had the pleasure of reading about and following. That they suffered so greatly for their faith and remained steadfast even during such tormenting and horrifying times makes me want to seek an even closer relationship with The One Who strengthens those who seek Him and His will. His mission, once he was convicted by his Savior after arriving here in the US seeking 'quiet moments' after being ransomed from Romania by private individuals, was to start the organization known as "The Voice Of The Martyrs", a wonderful organization, blessed beyond measure in bringing to Christ those who see the need for a Savior in their lives. It will bless you. The group dcTalk co-authored the Jesus Freaks books through VOM.

About me:

I am a Christ-follower, first and foremost, closely followed by finding myself extremely blessed to be the mother of six wonderful children ~ 1 daughter & 5 sons. As of September 26, 2008, I am finally a Grandma!

Who I'd like to meet:

I am desiring to 'meet' with those who choose LIFE, the life that is a gift of God, and those who stand for it regardless of what the world may say. My Lord has spoken to me over the past years and shown me where the Christian church has failed Him by fence-sitting on the topic of abortion. He has opened my eyes to the fact that we cannot claim to love Him if we do not love the 'least of these'. We cannot claim to love our 'brother and sister' if we cannot muster the courage to tell them the Truth, which is that our choices bring blessings or curses upon us. And the curse of abortion is more than evident. There IS absolute Truth and I choose to stand upon it. Please know that abortion is not the only sin that I stand against but is the one I feel led to be most vociferous about, especially as I watch my own country crumble under the weight of her sin of choosing who is and is not worthy of life. And even more so as I note that this 'choosing' has cheapened every other aspect of life as well. My 'top' friends list will contain those that stand with Him when it comes to the unborn by being vociferous via blogging (although not all are currently blogging the topic).     Don't stop going to God on their behalf. Ask God, "Lord, do whatever it
    takes within Your will to get through to their heart." That's a
    powerful prayer...the "whatever it takes" prayer. He may have to knock
    them off their high horse, as He did Saul. He may have to bring them to
    a position where they're helpless, as He did with Saul. He may have to
    show up dramatically in front of them, but Jesus didn't die for them
    just to give up on them now

    Maybe you've tried to earn God's love by being a good person, a religious person, a Christian person. But God says clearly that the way to begin a relationship with Him is "not by works" (Ephesians 2:9 ). It's by His "grace" - which means undeserved love. All your goodness cannot erase the sinning of a lifetime. Sin puts us on eternity's Death Row. But even with all our sin-garbage - totally unlovable spiritually - God sent His Son to die for us. If He did not turn His back on you when His Son was hanging on that cross for you, He will never turn His back on you.
