MOTHER SUPERIOR formed in Uppsala, Sweden 1993 and released two albums. "The Mothership has Landed" (1996), nominated for the Swedish Grammy Awards and "The Mothership Movement" (1997). We split up in 2000. Since then we've played in other bands and we've had plans to reform to record but as you know rock'n'roll has a high price...
BIOGRAPHY
David Berlin and Sölvi Blöndal (a.k.a. Solvi Silver) formed punk band The Äppelkarters in 1986, alongside Jesper Hammarstrom (a.k.a. Yawn Hammer), Jonas Meshesha (a.k.a. Bartolomeus) and later Per Ellverson.
As we developed we went as Thy Steamroller to London in January 1991 for a few shows and tasted the hard reality of paying the dues. In the summer of 1993 we brought in a new rhythm section, Fredrik Cronsten on bass and Anders Stub on drums, changed name again and Mother Superior was born.
Our debut album "The Mothership has Landed" (recorded January 1996) got nominated for the Swedish Grammy Awards 1997. Sharon Osbourne Management made contact and she saw us play at Loppen, Christiania, Copenhagen but that came to nothing. We played several gigs throughout the 90's in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Holland and Switzerland. Our second album "The Mothership Movement" (recorded September 1997) is more studio-based and makes you think of classics like our first album.
In 1999 we changed line-up, with Fredrik and Solvi switching instruments and David picking up the guitar. Other artists that has contributed includes Dave Janney (Whigglun' Hips, Bland Bladen) and Henrik Wind (The Strollers). Since the year 2000 when the band split up Mother Superior lives in Muthaville.
Up 'til today Mother Superior members served in several bands: David - "Snuffed by the Yakuza", Solvi -"SS's Warchestra" and "Oresund Space Collective", Anders - "On Trial", Per -"Rev. Savage & His Holy Rollers" and "The Maggots" and Fredrik - "The Tumbleweeds".
