About me:
Our ArtBeat booth was a refreshing break from the booths of native American dream catchers and hand-painted shitty pottery. There was another t-shirt vendor who had Nietzsche quotes on all their shirts. One guy walked over to us and said, "You need a masters degree to get their shirts. You guys make something I can relate to. Do you have anything with stick figures?" You betcha! Not only that, we're offering our best-sellers for $5 off! Thanks, Somerville! You've made us almost-famous!
Did you know that it was in the 50's that T-shirts first started getting the screen treatment. The first company, officially anyaways, was Tropix Togs. They were also the original licensee for Disney properties. Also, the T was most like intoduced to the U.S. during WWI, when U.S. soldiers srated to wear the under the wool uniforms after having seen European soldiers wearing them and being much more comfortable.
