One of the most ferociously crunching heavy metal bands of all times and one of the most popular live acts of the festival and arena era that followed in the wake of Woodstock. Mountain was formed during the Woodstock year of 1969. This New York based foursome consisted of Leslie West on guitars and vocals "king of vibrato and tone" formally from The Vagrants. Felix Pappalardi who produced Cream and other acts of that era was also the bassist and vocalist. Corky Laing provided the thunderous heartbeat with his trade cowbell and double bass drumming. Steve Knight filled the holes with with his keyboard textures. Together these guys made rock history with their albums, Climbing and Nantucket Sleighride. Mississppi Queen is a classic rock staple to this day. These albums were equally known for their unique album cover artwork also. Mountain is powerful American band that rivaled the the great rock bands of the British Invasion. They've inspired many bands and musicians through the decades. Mountain still actively tours to sold out shows in America and Europe.They still play loud and aggressively as ever !!
