Biography

Mourn Code begins in the year of 2006, with the coalition of members of local bands Necropsik, Oddity and Dark Liturgy with the purpose of creating a different brand of music that would depart from the current styles that these bands were playing. So the band started making Death metal, with gory and sexual themes in the beginning, and even elements of Death Core in some of the earlier material were incorporated, which dissapeared almost immediately to take a path completely towards Death Metal, mixing the most fresh elements of the genre with others that were a bit more old school and classic, blending the band´s sound that today reaches into Technical Death Metal,with lyrics focused on the abstract and numeric themes.

Mourn Code debuted in the show “Oddity Fan Party” on the 25th of march 2006 in Aguascalientes, México. After only a few weeks the band opened for USA Disgorge and in october of the same year they opened a concert for USA Asesino. Before the end of the year the band releases two songs in a Split Cd titled “Poison Unleashed Upon Humanity”, wich opened the door to become headliners in a number of shows across the country of México in 2007. In this year of 2007, Mourn Code opens a show for USA Brujería, the new EP Delicate Hands is released, and a video is recorded and launched for the title track of the EP.

The promotional video for “Delicate Hands”, even tough as being a semi professional production, helps the band´s name become a little bigger in the national scene, and Mourn Code shared the stage with USA The Black Dahlia Murder in early 2008, and a couple of months later, they shared the stage with USA Incantation, at the “Mortal Fest 2008”, which is the biggest and most important annual extreme music festival in México. This concert marked the end of the first stage and line up in the band´s career.

In september 2008, with the line up consisting of only two members (Fernando Jiménez “Demon” and Fernando Moreno “Zid”), the band enters the studio to record their first full length album, which through a contest to choose the álbum title, is named “Paradise Of The Walking Waste”. Nevertheless, after the recordings of the álbum are finished, which are completed by Alejandro Zamora “Zora” on vocals, Mourn Code enters a recession stage and the album is not released. After almost a year of inactivity, and with new members consisting of Erick Busson (Guitars) and Mirsha Balderas (Bass), the band starts rehearsing again and begins to write new material, and at the same time they tour and play headlining dates in México, co-headline the annual “San Marc Rocks Festival” (the most important metal music festival in its town), opens a show for Poland´s Epitome, and wins the award for “Best Death Metal Band” in the “Rock City Awards” celebrated annually in Aguascalientes, México.

Today Mourn Code is in search of a label to release “Paradise Of the Walking Waste”, and they also have entered “Pravia” studios to begin work on the pre-production stage of their upcoming Second Full Length Album. They are also planning an upcoming national Tour that will consist of over 30 dates across the country.
