Moussa Kouyate, originally from Senegal is currently living in Bristol and playing his Kora, sometimes accompanying the Kora music with his voice, and playing at small gigs, either solo or with other musicians who complement his music, especially Omer Makessa of Bristol, who together blend their music magically.
Moussa is visiting and playing at some of the Bristol Open Mic Music venues over the coming months ahead to meet many of the other talented musicians he has heard on these pages.

Please also listen to the beautiful and varied sounds which the Kora can produce, by listening to the music of some of my Kora-playing "Myspace Friends" if you have the time.

France songe beaucoup à son Faso natal. La preuve, il a créé une association dénommée Nong-Taaba (Aimons-nous) pour venir en aide à ses compatriotes vivant dans les villages de Kélébali et de Kougri.
Hey Moussa, We really love your new "Up Tempo" track. It puts a new perspective on "Moussa the Master", and it's nice to see you're "in-the-groove", so to speak. My foot hasn't stopped tapping.
We hope you put up some more tracks like that. Do you have a CD ? Hope to meet up with you sometime at one of your gigs. All the best to you (and the band) .... Sam.
HELLO MOUSSA! how are tings in Bristle? Sorry I've not been in touch for a while. How's your new CD turned out? If you want to post me a copy or 2 I can try and get you some gigs around Gloucestershire. Cheers! Matt Archibald

To Moussa and the Band. Just to say a HUGE "Thank You" for putting on such an entertaining gig at the Albert Inn on Sat 22nd March.
If you weren't there you wouldn't believe the versatility of the Kora from playing wonderful Classical sounds, through to rocking with you three Percussionists and Bass-player, and to finish off with that wonderful African Dance lady who got us all up doing African Dance to the last numbers. Absolutely memorable ... Thanks .. Trevor.

Hi Moussa Thanks for finding me and for introducing me to your wonderful, enchanting music. It's very comforting to know that such fine, traditional music is being created in my native city along with a whole range of other styles of music. Geoff
