Man Overboard formed in 2005 when a few creative high school kids wanted to make an impression on the music scene. Within their first two shows they were discovered by Ron Neuman of The Diamonds and Mel Rivers of The Drifters. The two were so impressed by the talent displayed by the band that they decided to produce them, and placed them under the artist development program at Neu-Horizon productions. After spending a year under the Neu-Horizon program Man Overboard decided to break away from their producers in pursuit of what they ultimately wanted to achieve as artists, which was to reach as many people as possible with their music. After much down time, and countless line-up changes the band was able to continue exploring their true potential.
In 2007 they found a solid line-up and went on to win the U of A battle of the bands, as well as gain a local following within their community. They continued to gain momentum through 2008, and played numerous shows with national acts. In December of 2008 they began recording their first full length album which is set to release some time in the summer of 2009. Having gained so much experience throughout their existence Man Overboard has found that they are most proud of their ability to amuse people of all ages, and from any walk of life. Armed with the combination of a three piece horn section, and basic rock trio they have created their own brand of Rock ‘n Roll with a Reggae twist.Their jubilant style, experience in professional settings, and involvement with the local scene has made for a musical experience you wouldn’t want to miss.
Man Overboard has brought their explosive show, and highly contagious energy to venues, and crowds of all sizes. They have shared the stage with acts such as:Less Than Jake, Unwritten Law, Suburban Legends, Authority Zero, Big D and the Kids Table, and Voodoo Glowskulls.
