We are MOVIE POPCORN, a web site with one goal in mind: to bring you movie reviews that are intelligent but comprehensible, easy to understand but not dumbed down.
Movie review sites are pretty common on the internet, and too many of them spend their time trying to impress readers with their literary gymnastics. The result is usually an audience who still has no idea whether they even want to see the thing. At MOVIE POPCORN, you won't discover that Final Destination 3 is "a cheap study in evisceration and decapitation," nor will you find that Scary Movie 4 is "an exercise in lowbrow postmodernism." These things may be true, but they stray from our goal and sound awfully silly doing it, given the source material.

We even have a new feature we are proud to present called LOST IN THE SHUFFLE a virtual online museum of practically-forgotten films we think deserve a second look. As avid movie fans and longtime critics, we come across entire libraries of films that got little or no publicity at the time of their release and are, as a result, what we consider lost gems. Our team of hard-nosed but fair and balanced movie critics will be periodically bringing you a closer look at some of the films that we feel fit this description. Each entry will be signed by its author and will represent his or her own individual opinion on the film in question, just like our weekly reviews on www.movie-popcorn.com. Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
