the website is here (mostly)... please check out www.movingpartsdance.com
Moving Parts is all about making dances, exploring how they get made, and what happens once they are made. We are interested in experiential, movement-based dance work and in creating performances that exist as open texts, both for performers and for viewers. It is a dance baby, founded in 2007 by independent dance artist and all around movement geek, Meg Foley.
we are currently working on cookie which will be presented throughout the year in installments with the goal of eventually doing a large scale performance installation in Fall 2010. cookie is performed by Michele Tantoco, Sara Yassky, Christina Zani, Gabrielle Revlock, and Alison D'Amato and features set design by Mandy Carmichael.
I am also developing a solo, natural, which frankly is hard to put words to, but here it goes:
natural makes me both fully angry and very happy whilst doing it. it is 0-60. it's like wrestling myself - in a good way. there is no marking natural. i want you to see my clown bling. i want you to see my face and forget it. i like easy, real exploration that is fully present and based in the body; it started before you looked. and i like scratching the itch, governed by an outside force, nailing it, never being precise enough. i'm all there but not enough.
