My name is Martyna Halas and I am a Polish singer located in Dublin, Ireland. I am influenced by various music genres; from EBM and 80's pop music to progressive rock and extreme technical metal.
Throughout my childhood and until my early teenage years I had sung alto in a choir called Camerata di Gioia. After I quit, I continued solo and had the pleasure to train with an opera artist Urszula Walaszczyk-Nogaj. I never wanted to limit myself to one particular style, though, so I soon gave it up in order to explore different (sometimes extreme) singing techniques with various bands and short-term projects in Poland. Unfortunately, many of them failed before any material was recorded.
In 2008 I moved to Dublin, Ireland, and almost immediately found Liu Cain, a synthpop/electronica band. In less than a year we recorded a video, a short demo and played a few gigs, all of which got really positive reviews. Unfortunately due to personal reasons the band's activity had to be put on hiatus.
Right now I am involved in a few different projects based in or around Dublin. Some of them will show a further progression into electronics, some of them will be a return to the roots... Either way, they might surprise you, so do come back here soon for more details...
