We could enter some played out, generic-sounding, extensive description of ourselves using big words, but that would be a cliché. The point of a bio is to give you an idea of who we are, so in short this is our story.
Based in Richmond, VA, although developed from a college band in Farmville, VA, we've been regionally and nationally touring since 2004. Mozely Rose started its music career by signing on with a really bad indie label (as a lot of bands get tricked into at a naïve, starry-eyed stage), but we only put up with their incompetence for a couple years. After firing the label at the end of 2006, the band took complete control of bookings, distribution, merchandising, promotions, and everything else that goes with the job description.
To aide our rebirth, in May of 2007 we released our second album, The New Brew, recorded at The Sound of Music, to kinda jump start our new way of operating. The listener will find the album samples country, funk, and blues drenched with Outlaw-Rock finesse.
Mozely Rose has been apart of the entertainment at Southside Speedway, the toughest short track in the South. We also ran the 7 car in 2007 and plan to be affiliated with LEI Motorsports again in 2008.
The band has also been poking the European music scene since Fall of 2007. Radio play in Germany, France, and Italy has been growing just as it has in the United States.
Recently, we have been focusing on more regional touring. Be sure to check our dates periodically to see when we’ll be dropping by your town.
If you’d like to know more about us, shoot us an email or come out to a show. We’ll write you back or sit down and have a drink with you.
