A cross between all my influences thrown into a tumble dryer for 90 minutes on setting 6, shrunken down and folded nicely.
MPD was born in Preston, Lancs. Initially raised on child-sized portions of Cajun Blues, classic rock and Northern Soul, not to mention a liberal sprinkling of chart hits, these sounds were already beginning to shape musical outlook on life at an early age.
It wasn't until he moved to university in Oxford that things really began to take a hold. The inspiring city brought rise to early songs and a few impromptu acoustic gigs, ultimately though it was all just a stepping stone on the way to the bright lights of London. There he has been involved in an intense period of writing and recording. In 2005 he co-founded the rock band Calderbank who played around North London venues throughout the year, but musical differences sent the band their separate ways. This wasn't ideal, but simply served to focus his mind on what he wanted to achieve and needed most in his life.
MPD's music conveys heart-felt emotion, a self-maintained steadfastness that no matter how bad things may seem, there is always a way out; an answer. His songs address topics such as defiance, heartbreak, special moments in his life and observations of the world we live in.
