This is a show we do every year - I think we missed one year - but we've done it every year since Joey Ramone died. This basic idea here is many local bands doing short sets of RAMONES covers to raise $ for the American Cancer Society... In 2007 we were able to donate $1000. Thanks to all the bands who played.
here's the info for 2008 so far...

Is there a line up of bands yet for this years show? Not that it matters because I will be there no matter who is on stage. I've been to every one and look forward to this years event. Hey Ho! Let's Go!
From the City Pages A - List Lee's 5th Annual Tribute to the Ramones Sat Sep 16 The Ramones officially broke up a decade ago, and the years since have seen cancer decimate the original lineup—first claiming Joey (2001, lymphoma) and later Johnny (2004, prostate). So it's apt that this annual tribute show, which gives 10 local bands 15 minutes apiece to cover as many Ramones songs as possible (and you can play quite a few in 15 minutes), should donate all proceeds to the American Cancer Society. It's a little less fitting that the show should land just two days before Dee Dee's birthday; he died of a heroin overdose (2002). But who's counting. With Shrimp Grande, Impaler, the God Damn Doo Wop Band, the Fillmores, Useless, XOXO Judy, Death in Small Doses, Panel of Experts, MezzoFist, and Red Phone Dispatch. 21+. $5. 8:30 p.m. —Chuck Terhark
