Poverty was the breakfast that he ate every morning, gutter was his lunch and
hard times was his dinner. He didn’t allow his circumstances rule his life.
His mother always told him that he was more than what the world was trying make
him and the sky is the limit. She also told him that he had a voice and to speak
up and be heard. Big Poppa did just that, he put all of his frustrations, pains,
joys, hopes and dreams into music. He became a force to be reckoned with. He was
introduced to the rap game when he got with Boot Style Records then later hooked
up with the “Real Ratchet King” Anthony Mandigo. Anthony saw the potential
Big Poppa possessed, he signed him to his record label, Lava House Records. Anthony
knew that Big Poppa’s was a star in the making, but something was still missing.
He went to Baton Rouge, LA and signed its hottest producer, Phunk Dawg, the rest
is history.
