About me: Born in Halifax, Mark went to fee paying private schools in Halifax and Leeds since the age of three. He stayed on at school after his GCSE's and completed his A Levels before going to University to study Sport - Mark graduated in 2004 - after coaching football in the USA.
He worked and lived in Derby - got a job in Sport Development - Coaching football and running one of the largest Mini-Soccer (Football for 6-11 year olds) Leagues in the country. Mark then finally made his way back to Bradford - before ditching a career in sport and joining the Police Force.
Mark featured heavily in the local and national press as the first ever Police Officer to enter the annual Mr Gay UK contest. His story will have plenty of resonance for other young, gay men who find themselves in the same predicament. He lied to friends, family and workmates, month after month about what he was doing, where he was going and who he was seeing...
During his year as Mr Gay UK Mark wants to help change the attitudes of the public towards gay people.
Mark stated, "If I can work to break down stereotypes, I hope to crush some of the prejudices that gay people still face today."
Mark is well motivated and a very much 'get up and go' sort of guy, he's well educated, straight acting and got his head screwed on.
He regularly attends the gym and is a competitive runner once representing Yorkshire, running in the English School Boys Cross country Championships and now competing for West Yorkshire Police. He's fit and active and looks after himself.
Mark is also keen on football a former football coach and registered with the Football Association.
He enjoys a good night out with friends and a few drinks - doesnt hold back in ..letting his hair down!' Although he also enjoys a cosy night in with a take away.
Two years ago Mark was leading a double life, petrified of telling anyone the truth about his sexuality. Now he's Mr Gay UK attending PA's, Photoshoots and being himself.
Mark was also the official UK delegate for the annual Mr Gay Europe contest in August 2007 - he made the semi finals and came 2nd place runner up behind Mr Germany - Jackson Neto.
Mark is the official UK delegate for the MR GAY INTERNATIONAL contest in January 2008.
