While I'm no where near as good as they are, Iron and Wine, Sufjan Stevens, and any other soft spoken folky guitar playing person out there probably (oh yeah Mason Jennings too) had an influence on the style I got going at the moment.
Sounds Like
Sounds all the same. I just got into this folk thing all of a sudden. Personally, I don't even listen to the kind of music I write. I hope you enjoy.
My name is Austin Branson. At the moment I live in Budapest, Hungary teaching at an international christian school. When I'm not grading papers or teaching I like to record music at my desk. "Mr. B" is what one of my asian students (6th grade) calls me. Hince the name of "my band." He drew the picture shown on my display photo. If you hear kids talking (yelling) in the background of my songs, it's because they're playing basketball on the playground outside of my classroom.
Please read the lyrics and explanation for why I wrote the song and what they are about. Some of the stories behind the songs are interesting. At least a little interesting. If you want some of the songs just email me (awbranson@gmail.com) or myspace me with your interest and I'll get it to you.
Enjoy these songs.
Austin
I created my own profile using nUCLEArcENTURy.COM and you should too!
So, did you record these songs throughout the year? Or during that last week of school? I just remember you playing a lot at the end of the year. I like it. You are certainly talented. How's your summer so far?
AUSTIN!!!!! What a treat! I couldn't figure out who this "Mr. B who wants to be my friend" was until the big bearded picture popped up!:) How's it going? I've heard some crazy fun things about you so dish me out some more!
