About me:

I like to write, but more than that, I like the bohemian writerly lifestyle. Alan Alda's character from Manhattan Murder Mystery is an inspiration of mine.

My fashion sense is based on looking stupid. If I glance in the mirror and can't believe how ridiculous I look, I know I'm good for the day.

I like shooting pool and making out with girls. I don't do quite enough of the former, I don't do nearly enough of the latter.

Who I'd like to meet:

People who speak the english language. Not just your everyday english-speaker, but the folks who carve it up, twist it around, and create poetry with it.

Also, cute girls.

I'm still working on it. Any ideas or suggestions to improve it are welcome. I feel like it's missing a couple of key songs, but I can't quite figure out what they are, and I'm worried they might be songs I don't actually have or have never heard, which would leave this playlist in limbo forever. Terrifying.
  • Movies

    Briefly:
Saw Iron Man again, which was still awesome. Hellboy 2 sucked more than anything in recent memory. The Dark Knight was just flat-out amazing on first viewing; second go-round felt a tad long but was still completely captivating. Incredible Hulk was oddly satisfying, considering it's rather thin plot and the fact I could never sit through the first one--Edward Norton makes a great Dr. Banner, although the parallels to Fight Club were lost on me while watching. I feel like I've seen other stuff, but it must not have been too exciting.

Coming up, the "test footage" from TR2N continually blows my mind, and the Watchmen trailer ramped up my excitement level to HIGH...
  • Television

Finally watched season 4.1 of Galactica; overall still the best frakkin' show on tv. But a few episodes (I think around when they ran out of scripts due to the writer's strike) feel rushed-through and cobbled-together. It's not unusual that you wish an episode of this show was longer; I'm not used to wishing any of them were shorter, but episode 8 (Romo Lamkin: the Sequel!) might have done more with less, as they say...
  • Books

A coworker introduced me to Jim Krusoe, and now you all must read him; he's simply brilliant. Reading Haruki Murakami, which is excellent. Also re-reading Sphere (by Crichton) which is readable, if not great. "About to read" the posthumously-released half-finished Douglas Adams book, a biography of Gay Talese my folks gave me for my birthday, Stephen King's book on writing, and a couple Heinlein paperbacks I've been tossing around...
