Bow hunting for deer, Bible studies, Teaching Sunday School, All town sales, Taxidermy, digging for antique bottles. I like to sell stuff on Ebay too.
I used to really like to participate in sports especially baseball and basketball. Unfortunately I am getting to be an old fart and my body is falling apart.
Maybe you didn't know this - I also play the guitar (self taught) and have written many, many songs that deal with Jesus and what He has done for us, God for sending His Son and His grace, and the ETERNAL REALITIES THAT REALLY MATTER.
If you know me, you know that I like to hunt. If you are thinking about getting into hunting, shooting, etc. PLEASE - take heed - Don't monkey around with firearms. Get it?????? "Monkey" around - and then there's a picture of this money with a gun????
HEY - CHECK THIS OUT!!! I just ran upon this GREAT new product in our local Wal-Mart's foods section.
That's right dearest reader - just add some ground coyote meat and you got grub for the whole family. I would probably bet that this would even beat the Coyote Crunchies that we served the kids at our church's Bible school this past summer.
MMMM MMMMM GOOOOODDD!!! Now that's what I'm talking about! COYOTE - THE OTHER WHITE MEAT!
Music
Anything that is heavily guitar oriented. Heavy and/or hard stuff I like is - (The old) Metallica, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, (old) Van Halen, Pantera, etc
Middle of the road stuff I like is - Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Rush, Def Leppard, Queensryche, and of course one of the greatest guitarists ever Ted Nugent.
Softer lighter artists I enjoy are - Micheal Card, Steven Curtis Chapman, Casting Crowns, Mercy Me.
I know this all seems contradictory (wow - that's a big word!) to go from heavy metal to Christian music but I enjoy it all. Lately, however I have been mostly listening to Christian music.
Rap, country, and classical music do nothing but agitate me. (I was wondering does "rap" and "music" even go together in the same sentence?)
Movies
Ummm.... Let's see... Some good movies - All of the Lord of the Rings, The Scorpion King, Stir of Echoes, Serenity. I'll probably think of some more later. Most movies that are released today are just total excrement (That's a fancy word for "crap"). Uhhh... can I say that word on My Space????
Television
I truly NEVER watch television. I mean - what a total waste of time. Life is but a vapor - It's here for a little while then it's gone. Minute by minute - hour by hour - the time we have in life is screaming by us. If you are spending hours a day watching TV or playing video games - Good Grief, get off the couch and do something productive with your life.
God has given ALL of us talents and abilities. I would hope that if you are a Christian and are reading this that you will resolve to use your talents, gifts, and abilities for the Master. One of these days the Master will be coming back, and when He does He will be looking at what each of us did with what He gave us to use in this life.
Well, The school year is winding down. Hunting and trapping season is over so now is the time of year for.... you guessed it DIGGING BOTTLES and going to rummage sales. Hopefully I can find time to do some of that between going to work and going to church to use my time and talents for the Lord. Check out my pictures - I have added some of deer and the coyote I shot this year with my bow. Enjoy!!!!
I would like you to know that I live in Central IL and do taxidermy work part time. If you live in Central IL and would like to have me do a full body mount of an animal for you, whiten a skull for you, or do some type of shoulder mount for you - please feel free to email me through MySpace. My prices are reasonable and my turn around time is very fast. Check out the slide show of my work below.
I have added this neat video of myself getting a pie in the face to raise money for breast cancer research. I know, I know - I'm always thinking of others, but that's just the type of fellow I am. I am one of those guys who is always striving to "make a difference".
You know, I did a lot of helping a student with Geometry this past semester and at one point in the semester I got really, really confused. She kept saying, "Pie are squared." (Get it pi r2) So here I am this whole time thinking, "Pies are not squared, pies are round." However she kept insisting "Pie are squared." Holy Toledo - I thought I was losing my mind. Wow - What a relief to find out at this "pie in the face" exhibition that pies really are round.
Anyway... Enjoy the video and keep checking back for more updates on my page.
Secondly, I am not for sure how to work up the new profile... will it be about digging for bottles? Will it be about taxidermy? Will it be serious???? (Dearest reader if you know me, you know the answer to that one!)
Anyway ---- I will leave you with a few thoughts I have been having about......
Romans 14:19 - Let us therefore follow after those things that make for PEACE and those things with which we may edify (build up) each other.
Who I'd like to meet: Hmmmm.... I'm drawing a big, big blank here. As far as mortals go - Maybe Thomas Jefferson or Leonardo De Vinci????? Wow... You know - most people just aren't that impressive.
As far as immortals go Well there is only One and that's Jesus. If you're a faithful Believer, some day you will meet Him in the air. You WILL see Him face to face, "for when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is." Just to hear Him say "Well done thou good and faithful servant" - That's all I'm going to need.
Hey, after you read this, grab your Bible and check out these verses - I John 3:1-2, I Corinthians 13:12, and I Corinthians 15: 52-58
That was in October. But we went muddin on Mudders Day!! Lol. So how have you been Mr.Roberts. I would have come visit ya but I hate beenin in that school. But I might do that before school gets out sometime.
Your pics of your artistic talents with preserving animals are neat. I love hunting and anything to do with adventure, and find them intriguing. I have a few friends who have had their black bears mounted. I'd love to have a rug.
I like the new pictures of dead things! How much wouldja charge to mount a ground squirrel head? Always thought that would make a funny accent in our living room.
Long time, no hear. Hope you and the family are doing well. I guess another school year is well under way. God bless you. Been digging? I did a lot of digging this season and hope to get out again before the really cold weather arrives.
Howdy there.
I've been out digging just about every week and we have found some keepers-nothing rare, but keepable and ebay saleable. I hope you are doing well.
Take care.
Pam
Bottle digging time now! I was out Tuesday with my digging buddy and we had a GREAT day both with the weather and fellowship. I took some pictures by a deserted trail station and we dug and found a few decent keepers, common, but worth the day out.
I hope to see you posting on the HD Christianity group soon again. I enjoy your comments and sharings.
Hey there, Mark!
March is here, and soon--bottle digging time! I am impatiently waiting for the snow to finally melt and stay away to get out. I hope to be digging in another two weeks or so if the weather cooperates.
Glad to have your imput on the Heavy Christianity group. You add a lot to our conversations.
Welcome to your Christianity Group. I hope you will add some comments, share, and open up discussion about anything that might be on your mind. Glad to have you.
Spring is nearly here, and another few weeks and we will be back out bottle digging. I cannot wait!
