ROBERT BOWERS - STRANGER - RELEASED ITUNES 21ST MARCH 2011 Hot off the heels of his leading roles in London Urban Collective's award winning Inferno and Purgatory, north London MC singer-songwriter Mr. Covo releases his debut solo single "Stranger" featuring Robert Bowers, produced by Resin. "It's fucking decent...every man can relate to what your saying!" Johnny, Man Like Me The cockney rebel hails from Spa Fields in the heart of central London and cut his teeth as one third of Spa Cru, releasing their eponymous debut single "You're a Grass" back in 2004 and performing with the likes of Two Lone Swordsmen and Soul II Soul back in the day. But it was in his lead role as Virgil in London Urban Collective's award winning Hipopera Inferno that he came to international attention when the film picked up Best Narrative Short at the Chicago International Hip Hop Film Festival. Mr. Covo and Robert Bowers perform live at Plan B, I Luv Live, They Said it was Dead, Offline, Discovery, Troy Bar, Purgatory, Dirty Rich TV, Da Triple A Show and many more through 2011

Hot off the heels of his lead performance as Virgil in London Urban Collective's acclaimed Hipopera Purgatory, Covo releases his new single Stranger featuring Robert Bowers on Freeport Records / Ingrooves. "It was crazy making the video for Stranger 'cos we were in Chicago where we won the award for Inferno at the Hip Hop Film Festival and we just headed into the industrial district and started filming and it all looked wicked - it's such a great looking city you can't go wrong with in on camera really". The cockney rebel hails from Spa Fields in the heart of London and cut his teeth as one third of Spa Cru, releasing their eponymous debut single “You’re a Grass” back in 2003 and performing with the likes of Two Lone Swordsmen and Soul II Soul back in the day. But it was in his lead role as Virgil in London Urban Collective’s award winning Hipopera Inferno that he came to international attention when the film picked up Best Narrative Short at the Chicago International Hip Hop Film Festival. Since then Covo’s been back on stage in Paula Crickard’s Devil in Disguise at The Whitechapel Gallery and most recently revived his role as Virgil for Purgatory, which debuted in June and is due back at The Pleasance Theatre for ten nights in December. “I’ve always loved the fusion of music and theatre” he says, “and Virgil is a great character to bring to life, especially when you’re surrounded by so much talent in the LUC like James Pyke, Olos, Lykez, Robert Bowers – the list just goes on and on – it’s a mad project. “Stranger brings all those elements together too – I’m a mad nutter in this character - I’m proud of the way it’s turned out and it was great working with Resin and Bowers again. Now the rest of the album’s shaping up nicely too….” Whichever way you look at it there’s more to come from Covo – on screen, stage and through your iPod. Stranger is released on Freeport Records / Ingrooves in September and will be available on iTunes and all good digital retailers. Covo will be back on stage with London Urban Collective from December 8-18 at The Pleasance Theatre Islington...
