I enjoy all types of music from Gregorian Chant to Garth Brooks.HOWEVER
My favorite type of music is defnitely 80's Metal, i.e. Motley Crue, Dokken, Poison, Guns N Roses, Europe, L.A. Guns, Faster Pussycat, Bon Jovi, Bang Tango, Blue Murder, W.A.S.P., Cinderella, Warrant, Skid Row, David Lee Roth AND Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Metal Church, Savatage, and Fates Warning. I also dig 70's Hard Rock such as Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, and those "in between" bands like The Scorpions, Judas Priest, AC/DC, Ted Nugent, Van Halen (NOT Van Hagar).I am currently trying to find new bands similiar to those listed above so that I can support a whole new crop of bands that aren't the same old "nu-metal" or "emo" crap that corporate radio is shoving down our throats.
Times New Roman, Times, serif';color:inherit;"> You Are a Freedom Rocker! You're stuck in the 70s - for better or worse
Crazy hair, pot soaked clothes, and tons of groupies
Your kind showed the world how to rock
Is that freedom rock?... Well turn it up man!Movies
I like a good movie, regardless of genre. A good movie is a good movie, and a really bad moive can be GREAT (especially if it involves giant bugs, giant animals, dinosaurs, or "genetic freaks").My current favorites are (in no particular order): Star Wars
, Indiana Jones, My Dog Skip, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Clerks, The Holy Grail, The Life of Brian, Undercover Brother, The Lord of the Rings, Tombstone, Pale Rider, Rocketman, The Dinner Guest (French comedy).Television
I split most of my TV time between comedies and "alternative history" type shows. A sampling is:..Comedies:..My Name Is Earl, That 70's Show (but probably not for much longer), Family Guy, American Dad, The Simpsons, Black Adder, As Time Goes By, The Thin Blue Line, Monty Python's Flying Circus, The Kumars..., ATHF
.."Alternative History/Reality":..Ghost Hunters
, Most Haunted (this one is funny as hell too), UFO Files, any number of "end of the world" type programs (I like these mostly to see how many predictions don't come true), any number of programs focusing on cryptozoologyI also enjoy both the Stargate series
, Cash In The Attic, Bargain Hunters, and almost anything dramatizing or predicting some sort of regional or global disaster. (Yeah, I'm a cheery S.O.B.).. width="425" height="350">......>Books
I love to read, but have to do it on the toilet in order to have the time. I like anything that makes me think, laugh, or go "YEAH!". Some favorite authors include J.R.R. Tolkein, J.K. Rowlings (yeah, I'm a grown man who reads Harry Potter books, so what), Stephen King, Dave Barry, Al Franken, Ursala K. LeGuin, who ever wrote the Calvin & Hobbes comic strip, Motley Crue ("The Dirt" was awesome), and any number of political commentators (I read based on subject matter usually, not author).Heroes
I think the concept of a hero is kind of strange. On the one hand, I really admire those people who've gone on to become stars doing things I wish I had been able to excel at, like sports, music, acting, espionage.
On the other hand, I think that truly sublime greatness is to be found in the lives of "common", every day types of people. My list may end up sounding a bit trite, but oh well. It's a list of the people I admire, along with the reason if I feel like it needs a little bit of explaining.
My mom and dad--They got divorced when I was 2 and have managed to go 34 years without saying anything bad about each other in my presence.
Firefighters--probably the most dangerous job that gets almost no thanks, depsite all the babbling on TV every Setptember 11th
Teachers--They get paid less than garbage collectors and are expected to not only teach kids "school stuff" but also raise them for the parents who can't find the time.
My wife--hey, she puts up with my ass
Any of the millions of "working stiffs" who make this country "go" and in the process sacrifice way too much to work way too many hours for jack-offs with too much money and not enough decency

About me:
....
Where to begin? I love rock and roll, my wife, and my son. I know there's a singer and guitar player just screaming to get out of my body, if only I knew how to bring them to the surface. Besides the laughter of my wife and son, my greatest joys in life are contemplating, "What if..." or "Is it possible to...".
I like to think I'm a fairly eclectic person, with interests ranging from KU Jayhawk basketball to quantum mechanics and string theory.<

Who I'd like to meet:
..If time and space were no option (and there were no language barriers):.. Jesus, the builders of the pyramids (all over the world), Julius Ceasar, William Shakespeare, Albert Einstein, Jimi Hendrix, Tommy Bolin (google him), Edgar Cayce, Nostradamus, Leonardo Da Vinci, Michaelangelo, Charlamagne, the builders/sculptors of The Sphinx, and the builders of Stonehenge. ..In the here and now: .. Jesus, Matthew McConaughey, Nikki Sixx, Stephen Hawking, Dave Chapelle, Jon Stewart, Colin Powell, Tony Blair, Slash, Jimi Page, Steve Buscemi, George Lucas, just about anyone in the cast of the Star Wars movies, Richard Branson
