.............. French horn player and conductor turned electronic composer, Purse Candy is a one man project by Portland producer and song writer Matthew Ellis. Conceived in 2007 in the northwest rainy city, Ellis takes advantage of long winters and wet surroundings by playing inside; keeping dry, drinking coffee and producing dark 80's dance pop. Like most Portland artists Ellis is a transplant. Originally from central Florida, Ellis relocated after dropping out of music school to live cheaply, drink beer and make music. Naturally the Pacific Northwest was an ideal location for said life style. In 2009 Purse Candy released it's debut EP "One Day I'll Look Back" on Unnamed Label. Being compared to Royksopp and The Postal Service, "One Day I'll Look Back" is an obvious electro pop treat.
