Bio
I write and play with confidence and style!! My forte is well crafted and upbeat acoustic songs, which are full of hooks and are instantly memorable. As both an accomplished musician and songwriter, my credentials include UK Independent Chart and UK Commercial Club Chart top 10 success, songs featured on MTV, Sky music channels, Channel 4, Sky Sports, surfing DVDs and computer games, daytime radio play across the UK, USA, Germany and Australia, being an artist and songwriter for a very hardworking and dedicated London based record label, and having a song considered by the Musical Director of a James Bond movie. I’ve worked with a number of top producers, and had versions of my songs remixed by the likes of Ode Hunte (Leona Lewis), Seed (Cascada) and Justin Harris (Acid House). My song-writing talents were recognised by the International Songwriters Association, who featured an in-depth interview with me in their worldwide magazine. My more recent and varied exploits include a project with eternal pop stars Right Said Fred and penning an opening song for BBC Radio Leeds’ “Leeds United Unplugged” show. Over the years, my guitar playing skills have seen me sharing the bill with Richard Hawley, The View, Pigeon Detectives, You Me At Six, Rose Royce and Corinne Bailey Rae, to name but a few, whilst my recent exploits as a solo acoustic act have seen me playing some amazing gigs with Mungo Jerry, Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets) and Paul Southern (Red Lorry Yellow Lorry). So…when some might be considering hanging up their instrument, giving their vocal chords a rest, putting away their dictionary and thesaurus, and looking back on what they’ve achieved, I’ve turned my attention to the acoustic scene and I’m having the time of my life! I’ve notched up a number of fantastic live shows and radio performances…and all whilst playing the type of music I love and with a smile on my face!! I’m proud to be endorsed by hand crafted Haigh Guitars, and from March 2010 I have also been using Breedlove acoustic guitars. I use the Logarhythm Acoustic Stomp Box on stage, and I always use Kevin Petch for publicity and live photos. 2010 saw me launch my debut solo EP and a series of pod-casts, whilst 2011 will see a number of single releases and much much more. -

Influences
As an experienced songwriter, I love well crafted quality songs of any genre and any decade. I’m a big fan of most 1960’s music, and in particular Scott Walker, Elvis Presley, French Pop, Northern Soul and the classic songwriters from this era. My acoustic performances draw from such influences as Bobby Darin, “Rubber Soul” era Beatles, Gene Clark, Jimmy Webb, The Style Council and the Baccarach & David partnership. -
Sounds Like
My music has been described as “acoustic pop with panache” and it’s basically just me and my guitar playing up-tempo and up-beat tunes…the kind of music you can tap your feet and click your fingers to. Over the past year, as a solo artist, I’ve enjoyed numerous high profile gigs and radio/television appearances (including BBC Raw Talent Hull and Leeds, Leeds United Unplugged, ELFM Musicathon and In the Loft TV). I’ve gained a reputation on the live circuit as a must see act, as I play with bags of style, musical ability and confidence. I hope you can catch me live soon and see for yourself!.. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..Quotes about my solo acoustic career: .."Cannot recommend his EP highly enough!" The Music Guru, Leeds .."Quite simply somewhat cool" The Leeds Scenester .."Genuinely well thought of by the crowds on the Leeds music scene" The Beat Surrender, Leeds .."Superb!" - Alan Raw, BBC Radio Introducing .."Absolutely brilliant!" - Adam Pope, BBC Radio Leeds .."Superbly stylish" - AiiRadio Liverpool .."Refreshingly different and upbeat" - Leeds Indie Radio .."Delightfully different" - In The Loft TV .."His performance is slick, his songs are upbeat and playful, and receive a great reception from the audience" - www.leedsmusicscene.net .."A great guy, a great performer and a great guitarist" - Paul Tansley, Radio Sheffield Live ..Quotes about songs I have written and co-written: .."Absolutely stunning" - Paul Wappat, BBC Radio Newcastle .."A refreshing change to the depressing indie rockers that are flooding the scene at the moment" - whisperinandhollerin.com .."The best slice of slinky soul/pop I've heard in an age!" - The Crack Magazine (North East)
