The Codex with Mark Boals (Yngwie Malmsteen), Magnus Karlsson (Starbreaker, Allen/Lande, Primal Fear), Daniel Flores (Mind's Eye) and me! The album is out and I suggest you buy it! It's available at Ginza and CDON. It's one helluva hard rock/metal album with plenty of music to dig in to. There's a sample in form of the song "Toxic Kiss" here in my song list, take a listen if you're interested! =)
So, after this shameless ego-boost, who am I really? Well, I'm a music student from Sweden on my fifth year (out of six) at The Academy of Music here in Malmö. When I'm done studying I'll be a certified bass/guitar/ensemble teacher with a Masters Degree in Music Education, which I'm really looking forward to! I already work part-time as a bass/guitar & ensemble teacher and enjoy it very much. My main instrument is electric bass, but I also play quite a lot of electric guitar and even some classical guitar (mostly Bach or Brouwer pieces). From time to time I also do some notation work for various people. My latest big project was the notation for Mattias IA Eklundh's guitar tuition album "Growing Your Own Moustache, Vol. 1" which is an excellent thing to pick up if you're ready for some challenging and self-developing playing!
I'm a member of The Codex (melodic metal), Mister Kite (metal) and Versûs (80's hard rock). I'm currently playing bass in a pair of singer/songwriter projects together with Lovisa Ståhl and Rebecka Karlsson which is something I really enjoy doing because it's different from what I normally do and it's very challenging in its own way. I've also done a couple of guest appearances as a lead guitarist on Nocturnal Alliance's (dark progressive metal) latest CD's.
Mr. Gul is my solo project and was founded back in 2001. I write my own material and record demos/songs every now and then (lately my music have been about heartache, something I'm extremely familiar with...) Usually I play all the instruments by myself with the exception of drums, where I normally spend some quality time with Cubase and Drumkit From Hell or hand over a bunch of drum scores for some poor drummer friend to learn. If you want to hear a nice example of my drum programming, take a look at my good (and extremely talented) friend Carl Mörner Ringström and the song called "The Rules Of Engagement (Are At Your Discretion)".
Take care, everybody - and don't forget to enjoy music!

Many thanks for the add. Hope you enjoy the music and message behind it. My mission in life is to fight Human Trafficking. understanding the individual pain of others is sometimes to painful for an other individual to touch and that is frightening ... what i mean is that someone whose life is not traumatized and brutalized as a regular sequence of every day events unconsciously seeks the camouflage and shelter of apathy and banality from the reality of such devastating anguish and terror ...
but the spirit of young people who are used as sex slaves in the systematized global industry of human trafficking is now reaching out to the human fellowship in hope and desperation and through technology ...
it is scary when humanity turns a blind eye to this horror ... its like ignoring genocide whilst it is happening ...
what i am asking is that if you hear the cry of these young people who are existing in an environment of torture and brutality each and every day that you then please do not turn away from them ...
please reach deeply into your heart and soul and please join a movement or become a part of an event that challenges modern slavery in the 21st century ...
Oh great!! Sure you'll spend an amazing night! I'm gonna see them in November as well. Can't wait! In 3 weeks I'll see Riverside too, I've never seen them live again, so it will be memorable! And in December I'll go to see Alice in Chains in Paris!! Yeaaah!
Otherwise, I'm busy with studio sessions nowadays. We're recording an album with my Rock band, tomorrow I've the drums-take on 11 tracks! It's gonna be a freaky day! haha!
Can't wait til' Land of the Freaks gets released! And really looking forward to see them live soon. I bet you'll see them during their Scandinavian tour. Lucky you!!
Linus!
Satan i gatan vad gott det blev =) Feel the heat!!
