HENRY VON has steadily built up a loyal following across the globe with his unique
and edgy style of "chunky, tough & groovy... house & techno." His semi-live laptop
set-up combined with his always-in-the-mix approach (and a potent dollop of
madness) has picked up many fans along the way. He has already played alongside
some of the finest including Gregor Tresher, Slam, Troy Pierce, Japanese Popstars,
Sister Bliss, Anderson Noise, King Unique, Tom Pooks, Audiojack, Matt Tolfrey,
Spektre, and at clubs such as Privilege (Ibiza), The Arches (Glasgow), Custard
Factory (Birmingham), Air (Birmingham) as well as across the UK and Ibiza via his
Excentric residency.
For Henry Von, 2010 is set to be his biggest year yet.
The year just gone by has seen him really begin to make a name for himself, with standout sets that have been well received from both underground heads and party animals alike. 2009 saw him build on his Excentric residency with gigs at Firefly (Nottingham), Back To Basics (Leeds), Ketoloco (Leeds), Bedbug (Nottingham), Superfly (Birmingham) and he has continued to attract a regular following across the Irish sea at Kontakt (Belfast), Surround Sound Electronic (Limavady) and Hospital (Dublin). Thereʼs been 2 successful Rekluse label parties in Leeds and Limavady, but it would have to be his double set at Phil Kieranʼs night “Kranc” at The Stiff Kitten (Belfast) that would be his highlight of the year, warming up for Phil and closing the night following on from Heartthrob (Minus).
2009 saw the launch of the Excentric Muzik off-shoot “Rekluse” ...co-owned by Henry Von and Fergie. Umek supplied the first release “2nd To None” which peaked at number 1 in the Beatport Techno charts and was still to be found in the top 100 over 6 months later. Carl Cox described Rekluse as "definitely one of my fave labels of the year" and went on to showcase Rekluse on his New Year's Day "Global" radio show (quoted as having over 1 millions listeners world wide). Following this massive success 2010 will see Henry Von and Fergie launch a brand new label, "Tribal Rage".
Following on from Henry Vonʼs debut ep on Rekluse (which featured on Carl Coxʼs 2009 Space Ibiza compilation) there's been remixes of Fergie “Blackeye-P”, Denney "12 Hours", Erphun "Tu Sueno" as well as his second appearance on the Excentric Muzik label with his remix of Christian Smith & Reset Robot "Elixir". His productions have been regularly supported by the likes of Carl Cox, Umek, Tom Findlay (Groove Armada), Christian Smith, Phil Kieran, DJ Madskillz, Stacey Pullen, Meat Katie and of course Fergie himself to name just a few.
Up next is his first original track of 2010 "Sgt Spleen" on the new Rekluse compilation "Reklusives Vol. 1" (also featuring tracks from Fergie, Psycatron, Electric Rescue, Loco & Jam + more) as well as remixes of Fergie, Umek and a release on Christian Smith's "Tronic" label.
Henry Von is definitely someone worth connecting to a rather large sound system...
