From a family spanning 3 generations of musical tradition to my knowledge, I first picked up a bass guitar at the tender age of 12... I can remember after a short frustration period that things began to come together quite quickly for me, which gave me the bug to relentlessly play my old black Hondo Precision copy that I picked up for fifty quid in a second hand shop in Leeds. I got my first wage from bass playing at the age of 14 after an ad I placed in a local music store got me an audition with a local rockabilly band The Shy Teds ...Fortunately for me I passed the audition and a couple of weeks later I was out there doing the local pub and clubscene...All those fast walking basslines were just what the doctor ordered for getting one's shit together tenfold I can tell you, however after a few year's of great fun and learning, I thought there was no way I was gonna take my playing any further playing twelve bars and proceeded to get the hell out of there. For the next half a dozen years I played in a couple of serious original bands and also with loads of 'bums on seats' cover bands which I am really grateful for because those bands gave me the experience both playing wise and head wise that I cannot put a price on, neither could I have studied for it. I always strived to work with the best players I could, because I found the more I respected the players in the band, the more I was hungry to keep improving... I probably stuck around on that circuit for a little too long though, due to all the fun I was having but hey no regrets. I have in recent years been very proud to have worked alongside a number of respected names in the business, the people involved in recommending me for such, are those to whom I will remain eternally grateful. Thanks guys you know who you are....Jase.
Ah, sorry to hear that. Keep me posted on your gigs anyhow. I've been madly juggling a day job, teaching and gigging. Going to be in next month's Bass Guitar Magazine so hopefully that will bring in some more students!
Hope you're having a good time over the festive period. If yer need me to do any gigs for yer gis a shout, I should have a car by the beginning of next week, progress!

"Here's something a bit different. These guys are heavily influenced by Rory Gallagher, Status Quo and early 70's British bluesy hard rock. They've got a great groove in the rhythm section, a fine guitarist in Guy Rosewall, and their album 'Bullfrog Blues' is recommended! The album includes a rockin' take on Rory's "Seven Days". Definitely not another SRV clone"
"The band is driven beautifully by Terry Brown on drums and Tim Chapple on bass, the latter laying down a stomping beat on every number.......... on the showing of this album I would strongly recommend them" (Ian McKenzie - Blues In The South).
ROCKING THE BLUES WITH A SLEDGEHAMMER GROOVE – THIS ENGLISH TRIO TAKE THE RORY GALLAGHER / HENDRIX BLUEPRINT AND BRING IT KICKING AND SCREAMING TO A TOWN NEAR YOU.
