About me: I'M A COMIC... Born a top a pizzeria in Toronto, my parents (soon to be evicted for a bursted waterbed that destroyed the apartment underneath) claimed that I was the only child of seven that wasn't an accident. Meaning they felt they were secure enough to bring another child into the world, and why not surely my fathers income as a pizza delivery man would be enough to support the family of five, (my two older sisters are products of my mothers first failed attempt at love).
My parents split when I was seven, shortly after the arrival of my younger brother. The boys went with pops, and the girls went with mom. Little did I know these feelings of abandonment brought on by my mother would fester into deep seeded trust issues that would plague my relationships with the opposite sex for years to come.
Where am I now? Toronto, Connecticut, New York, maybe. More likely I'm performing at some empty shit hole, in a once prosperous town, but has since dried up, because the manufactoring jobs, that were once the bread and butter of the local economy were shipped over to India. Leaving nothing but despair and addiction in it's wake. These are my people found somewhere along the road less traveled, and for good reason.
You may be asking yourself why? Why do you do this John? Well I do it for the waitress, the waitress whose husband is over seas fighting a war to liberate a people, a war to give rich white men a larger supply of black filthy oil they can sell to the people at a forever increasing price, for a forever increasing profit. I do it for the lonely waitress with the drinking problem whose husband is far far away, knowing that if we spend the night together, her regret and shame the next morning may be so strong that she decides she has a problem and needs help, and her new life begins that morning. Surely this is God's work.
