We play the music of Bob Marley, Jimmy Buffett, Calypso & Soca, The Grateful Dead, The Police, The Neville Brothers, and much more!
We also play many Mr. Myers originals, which have a reggae/calypso sound.
Sounds Like
Bob Marley, Jimmy Buffett, Harry Belafonte, The Police, The Neville Brothers, The Grateful Dead, Jimmy Cliff, The English Beat.
Mr. Myers blends the sounds of calypso and ska, the rhythms of reggae and a touch of rock and
roll with some favorite tunes to create their own special style of music- Caribbean Rock.
Mr. Myers began producing its unique blend of music in 1981 and has since become a favorite
dance band in clubs, at Summer Festivals, on college campuses as well as corporate and private
parties throughout the Midwest.
The magic of Mr. Myers’ trademark sound stems from Bandleader Todd Donnelly’s use of
authentic steel drums or steel pans, which Mr Myers was one of the first Midwestern Bands to make use of. Mr. Myers also pulls its
sound from its highly talented and diversely educated members, all having strong backgrounds in
Jazz, Classical, Rock and World music. Featuring wailing sax, searing rock guitar, colorful steel
drums, powerful percussion and strong vocals, Mr. Myers succeeds at playing its blend of
Caribbean Rock to enthusiastic mainstream audiences everywhere.
The Band has received a tropically warm reception at a variety of events, including Park
Districts, festivals, corporate functions and colleges, as well as clubs and private parties
throughout the Midwest.

"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
