His mother and grandparents provided a steady canvas of Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, Mahalia Jackson and the Motown sound. Paul also embraced Al Green, Curtis Mayfield, Stevie Wonder, Sly & the Family Stone, The Beatles, Marvin Gaye, Prince, and George Clinton. This gifted artist has traveled the globe, performing for audiences – small and large – connecting with music lovers around the world. Paul has toured with the legendary and timeless George Clinton and the Parliament/Funkadelic for several years now. He has shared the stage with the likes of James Brown, Lauren Hill, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Prince, Beyonce, Outkast and Jamie Fox to name a few. He has appeared on both David Letterman and Jay Leno. He has brought performances to the Grammy Awards, the BET 25th Anniversary Show. He also appeared on the Bernie Mac Show and in the television series, New York Undercover. Paul Hill is hot and his talent is quickly and easily realized. As a songwriter, his lyrics draw you into a master storyteller’s world. He wrote his first song at the age of 12 and the years to come would find him spending every penny made from after school jobs to book time in the studio to record his music. Paul has written and produced for Michael Biven’s label BIV10. He has worked with Grammy Award winning producer Michael Powell. He has worked with renowned music producer Dallas Austin (who has produced for industry stars such as Michael Jackson, TLC, Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Monica, Pink, and Aretha Franklin). Paul also wrote and produced for George Clinton’s recent album “How Late Do You Have2b Before UR Absent?” He performed on Rap Artist, Too Short’s platinum album “Gettin’ It”. ?And he has worked closely with, and has been credited with launching the careers of R&B producers, Tim and Bob (aka the Funktwons, have produced such hits as recording artist Sisco’s smash hit “Thong Song”, as well as music for Dru Hill, Boyz II Men, Brian McKnight and Bobby Valentino). Paul’s first album project, “Got Issues”, presented Paul the opportunity and autonomy to put his musical soul out on front -street. And that’s exactly what he did, giving us a series of profound life stories set to funky, soulful, deep melodies that are unforgettable and unshakeable. Motown’s legendary writers and producers, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, Holland Dozier Holland, recognized the talented explosion of musical gifting called Paul, and signed him to their label to produce his second album project, “Back against the Wall”. The project has been described as a “seamless flow of soul-packed perfection”, complete with hip-swaying grooves and tender treasures. Holland Dozier Holland (whose most celebrated productions were the singles they created for The Four Tops and The Supremes) has also garnered Paul’s producing talents for other recording acts on their label with huge success. His current and long awaited project, “Full Circle” promises to deliver some true Paul Hill – honest, soulful, gutsy, edgy, melodic and hip – and sometimes all at once.
