To many to mention...could be here all day, miles davis, john coltrane, ella fritzgerald, billie holiday, duke ellington, stan getz, art blakley, the isley brothers, marvin gaye, curtis mayfield, al green, average white band, d'angelo, dwele, the classics such as 9th wonder, slum village, little brother, pete rock, madlib, premo, strange fruit project, jazzy jeff to uk hedz, like jehst, braintax, scorsayzee, chester p, micall parknsun, kyza, wordsmith, hedz round leeds like nine lives, double d dagger, eliphino, dashiel, nightmares on wax, invizable circle......the list goes on.
Mc Prys, aka Alchi Glow aka 3.5 aka Herbs aka whatever you wanna call him has been writing bars for around 6-7 years, rolling with mans like L.I.P and Jack Danz from the days of "my rhyme hits with the force of gettin a kick in the balls" bbbrrrap Prys joined in the cyfa's at jack danz's old yard and started writing bars, then when Tung-tied left the almighty Demo crew, defenders of style was formed. Covering all topics such as politics, sex, drugs, living on the dole, wastemans etc. Perceptive accurate social commentary plays a massive part in there writing. after Ds was formed The supergroup Northern Hostility came together down to Mc Matter, including mans like, Alphabetix, J.Bravo, Dialect, Nomad, Filthy Rich, Instance, also with Mike D, Sarantis, Mowgli, Prolific on the production out came a dope Mixtape which is still looking to get dropped! (its all about the money) on it featured BTI, Jack Flash and King Kaiow from the I.R.S. after meeting with Matter, Prys started working on a side project with him and Mike D entitled Verbal Contact, which the E.p Literary Vices has been taken on By Record Label 30 tonne slug and should be released around christmas time The pair have just had the track "Trifling times" chosen to feature on the Rising styles 2009 mixtape featuring other artists such as Asavior, Appatite and Queens English to name a few, the whole thing is mixed together by Dj Excalibah. for more info hit up the following places!!!
