This is one that was written for me, just incase you didnt guess...
Also known as Ray O Donoghue to his friends. Ray has been an ever present on the Irish Music scene for the past ten years. Originally in Rock 'n' Roll bands from the late eighties Ray teamed up with Quadraphonic in 1996. He ran Quadraphonic Records and was closely involved in the promotion of regular nights and tours. He's also run Coastal Beats since 1999, formed Hidden Soul Productions Ltd in 2003 and teamed up with fellow Dubliner Anthony Mooney in 2004 to run Remedy. He has recently set up his own DJ agency called Real DJ's (realdjs.ie) an agency for local DJ's and promotion of one-off nights..................................................................
He has DJ'd with everyone from James Brown to David Bowie, honest ! Goldie to Howie B and a lot in between.
Between tours of the U.S.A, gigs in Germany, France, Spain and a couple of residencies in London have also helped to establish Ray as an International DJ. He had a four-year residency in The Velvet Rooms in London, and also plays regularly in Fabric along with appearances in Bar Rhumba and The End over the years, things are more Dublin based now with a couple of residencys, Soul Food in Bia Bar Dub lin and Fake in Thomas House ........................................
On the production side of things, Ray teamed up with Fila Brazillia in 1999 to release the highly acclaimed "Doppleganger" e.p. Whis ended up selling over 20,000 copies. He has since had releases on Defunked Records in the U.K and Hidden Soul in Ireland. Most recently Ray formed Kistar who have been playing live shows with the likes of Richard Dorfmeister, Gwen Mc Crae, Bassment Jaxx, Giles Peterson and much more. Their Debut release Bad Road EP was received extremely well. ..........................................................................
However it is Remedy and Realdjs that hes been concentrating on with the promotion of regular quality nights. Soul@Solas every Thursday in the Solas, regular nights in Shine on Wexford St along with regular one-off nights. Check the web for more..!!!!
