TOM ROTHROCK LIVING ROOM CONCERT DEBUT LIVE PERFORMANCE broadcast nationally on 130 Echoes stations all this JULY 4TH weekend.
"Tom Rothrock projects his dobro into an Electronica Americana... an album of raunchy slide guitar, elegant strings, bristling textures and driving rhythms that could be the soundtrack for a Blade Runner western." ~John Diliberto, ECHOES XPN Morning Show

"We jump into deep ambient Americana in a July 4th soundscape centered by an Echoes Living Room Concert with Tom Rothrock. The producer of Beck and James Blunt, Rothrock delves into ambient Americana chamber music in this exclusive performance of music from his album, Resonator.
Playing dobro and guitar, Rothrock gathers an ensemble in his Los Angeles living room that includes a string quartet and French horn. They tap into a uniquely Americana strain of music haunted by atmospheres. Surrounding Tom Rothrock's performance will be a sound that delves into the mythical side of America with ghost trails and ambient Americana." -www.ECHOES.org

TOM ROTHROCK's name is usually seen following the *Produced By* credit on the back panel of cds. Until now, he's perhaps best known for his contributions of production prowess to many of the most prolific performers and gifted songwriters of our time.
A short list of these career artists would have to include: Beck, James Blunt, Elliott Smith, Richard Thompson, R.L. Burnside, Badly Drawn Boy and bands like the Foo Fighters, Platalina Mosh, Supreme Beings of Leisure, the Warlocks, Elbow, Sloan, the Toadies, and the Yonder Mountain String Band.
In 1997, Rothrock's contributions to film were acknowledged early on, when his co-production of elliott smith's 'miss misery' for gus van sant's GOOD WILL HUNTING received an Academy Award Oscar nomination for Best Original Song.
In 1999, he co-wrote and produced 'its bad you know' with R.L. Burnside for the SOPRANOS original television soundtrack.
In 2002, he produced Badly Drawn Boy's songs for the soundtrack to ABOUT A BOY based on nick hornby's popular british novel.
2003 marked the turning point in Rothrock's ascent to full fledged composer and solo artist. He was sought out by lauded movie director Michael Mann to compose music for the original soundtrack of his film, COLLATERAL. And it was from these nocturnal compositions and sound architectures that the seminal ideas for RESONATOR were born.
About the RESONATOR cd: The first in a series of instrumental cds from Tom Rothrock, RESONATOR will be a limited edition, hand numbered release from an original one time pressing of 1,203 compact discs.
About the RESONATOR guitar: Emitting an instantly identifiable signature sound at once both gritty and bluesy, the Resonator, a wood-bodied guitar with a single metal coned center (and often called by the brand name DOBRO), was popular in the U.S. until World War II.
